seeing as we actually got some rain today, we went out for an arvo drive to play in some slippery stuff. i was a bit slack with the camera (actually, i didn't want to get me shoes too muddy) i didn't get too many pics.
we only saw quads and side x side's down here. awesome track though and the pics give you an idea of where we shouldn't be driving.
first bogging. 76 series (he was leading though)
second bogging. 76 series. this one was a little scary and the RH rear kept sinking.
trying to be artistic while trying to keep rain off the camera. the prado didn't get bogged though, with the pro comps having their first real play in some real mud.
Looks like fun Steve, those procomps look like they love the mud

and a happy new year to my prado. went in today to get some front end stuff sorted out. quick run down is: fitted a winch, and let the front end settle in, dropped about 20mm in the front. also some heavy wheeling over the xmas break put my wheel alignment way out and the front left axle oil seal had started to leak front diff oil. also, for the past month, the front end developed a knock, being front rack ends.
so, front lifted up the 20mm it dropped back up to 840mm bottom of rim to guard. rear still sits at 865mm. looks so much better now.
front rack ends replaced, left side had a little play, right hand had heaps. so i'm pretty much replacing rack ends every year. just for those who are looking at going over the 2-3" lifts. just some more insight.
tie rod ends were fine.
left hand axle seal replaced with genuine seal. $18 for the seal. normally a 2-3 hour job.
front struts pulled out and apart to machine a groove for the circlip. up 10mm with a new groove. i still have one more groove left above it, which is about another 8mm up. upper bushes and mounts checked over. lower strut spherical ball had no issues.
replaced the upper control arms also. the poly bushes in the upper arms were looking a bit average. these are the LR long travel bushes. the ball joints also suffered from play, being no grease and full of water. upon closer inspection, the inside of the ball joint boot had split. i reckon its from the coil spring at full droop. so new arms with new ball joints and new Super Pro bushes fitted.
these upper arms can now be bought through Fulcrum suspension in QLD with the Super Pro bushes. awesome.
and finally, just a wheel alignment.

knocked off work a little bit earlier today (5:30pm) and replaced the reverse light globes in the tail lights with some Super Farkin Bright LED globes.
i'll take some pics tonight with them in. no before pics, but you can chuck your car in reverse and hab a look at your lights.
will let you guys know how they go. i was a bit worried that they would be a bit too bright for the camry waiting for my park at night though. so hopefully, i won't need to switch on the rear LED work lights on when i reverse at night. it is good though, because people will actually stop and they will actually see you reversing.
pics coming.
