Forgot to ask how much water you can fit? Is the click on hose at ther high level just loose to allow you to fill or how does this work? Using this and Kylie/Joeys solution you could probably easily carry around 40l without even noticing it. Puts a bit of extra weight on the extremes though.

Can you also post a close up snap of the light you have mounted at the top of the inside of the door. Would like to see a little more detail. Can see the trim off image but not trim on. Would like to see how it sits and is fixed. Was it a LED strip light or something else? How bright is this in the dark with the drop table? Snappy of that would be brilliant

Firstly I can't lay claim to the water tank...was the invention of a fellow PPer...I just took it and ran with it. It takes ~15.5ltrs

The light is amazingly bright as you will see (Note: no flash on camera...oh and sorry about the wobblyness...twas the Mrs's high follutin camera which I'm not that good at working out):

I can't wait to replace all the internal globes with LED's...no power and much more light.

Light is fixed with velcro sticky strips.

The hose is just tucked up in the photo. It effectively serves two purposes:
            1. It has a one way hose connection on the end stopping water freom escaping; and
            2. I take it off that end and plug it onto the other and reverse fill it throught the ball valve. That way no air lock is created.

It is tucked up also due to the fact that I didn't have a flat webbing strap c/w cambuckle to go around the cylinder and strap the hose to it.

I'm now looking at doing the one for the front...these will be invaluable I'm sure.

Love the false floor Bankrupt, but I can't really make out how you fixed it down. Can you give any more detail? I really, really like the neatness of it. This is the first mod I'll do once I've moved into the new house and have some garage space to play in.

              Keep 'em coming

              Cheers,

I'd say He's pulled out the existing tie down points and then purchased some longer M6 bolts and re-installed the false floor with the original tie down points back in place. The same thing, more or less, for the way I've got my new drawer system except I have not reused the tie downs, but it does act as a washer and also helps prevent loosing them. Seen a few others like that as well.

It's held down by 8 x M10x1.25x50mmish bolts into the factory seat bolt positions. There are two boards that run length ways up the car that raise the floor (bolts go through top board and these). These are then glued and screwed (20x screws) to the top board. The top board is 19mm mdf so I countersunk the heads of the bolts hence you can't see them much. The tie down are only through the board at this stage, but as Schaffer suggested I have purchased 6mm (std thread) x 80mm bolts to secure the board at all four corners.

I will be pulling it out on the weekend to continue wiring up the rear of the car so I will take some pics. I will also attempt a drawing with measurements for those that wish to replicate it.

Thanks Bankrupt. Looking very closely I can see the screws in the seat marks now.

                    Cheers,

                      Re: BANKRUPT's 09 D4D

I'll be pulling out the rear floor this weekend to run the fridge wiring since it appears we will be having a fine day.

I'll be sure to get lots of photos of how it is all installed so that others can replicate it.

I'll also be installing my RanOx battery charging wiring in preparation for its arrival early next week so stay tuned

Bankrupt....that false floor is a great idea :!: I'd love something like this and maybe some adjustable tie down rails

Having a flat area like this is great.

Ok here are some more pics of the floor:

Also rec'd my RanOx today so I've made a mount for under the passenger seat. Ensures no plugs come loose / get booted by a passenger in the rear:

Now to finish wiring the Waeco socket for the fridge and the rear spotties and she's complete for the trip...well sort of...still short a drivers step

Hello Mr Bankrupt.....after reading through this thread I can see where the name comes from...hehehe

I did happen to notice at Lancelin that the step is still "missing".....not needed anyway?

Starting to make me feel very slow indeed, looking classy stuff. Hope to catch up to you one day.

Have a great trip and hope it all works well for you.

                                Pete
