Just an update in relation to my Pro Sport gauge - http://postimage.org/image/e3hq76jxv/ (the one on the bottom). They are good quality however they are hard to see during the day. Wearing polarised sunglasses make it worse. At night time the red back light is very good on the eyes. Visibility is all dependant on the the angle of the gauge, it's similar to an LCD screen. If I had my chance again I would purchase an analogue gauge. I had to swap the gauges around so I could see it better.

My EGT gauge is dead. Have emailed Prosport and will look at getting an analogue type.

Also if you scroll up the page I have added two more videos to my ChipIt install. The first shows a modified harness and the second is the test drive.

        Fuel filter video install

Installed my second fuel filter (Racor 30 micron) yesterday and did an install guide on YouTube. Refer to post 128 in the link below.

If I was to make the bracket again I would use 25mm square tube instead of welding two pieces of angle together.

                G'Day,

The following thread, at the bottom of the page http://www.myswag.org/index.php?topic=30628.0 is in relation to ideas on making a spare wheel carrier for my camper trailer. Any help in this area would be most appreciated.

Winston you can make up the same mount as the pic below but instead of bolting to the drawbar weld the upright to a straight piece of box the width of the drawbar rails so it looks like an upside down T. Get a heavy duty steel gate hinge and weld that to one side of the box and then weld or bolt the hinge to the drawbar so it is straight across the drawbar. Then on the other side weld a plate on the horizontal box to seal it off and mount a hasp and staple. Then you can lock ir closed or remove the lock and pivot on the hinge to pull the tyre over and onto the ground. I can sketch this up if my explanation is poor. Easy to make, maybe an hours work.

                      G'Day mjrandom,

There is no pic. A sketch would be nice if it's not much trouble. I would be looking at picking up the steel tomorrow and making it up on Sat or so.

                      Winston.

P.S Really nice work on your rig

Winston I meant this spare bracket from the post after yours on myswag...

Using that idea but instead of welding it to the drawbar weld it to a cross beam and then pivot that, here is a quick sketch that hopefully makes it clearer. Tried to do a drawing but it woudl take too long to get the idea across. Hmm this is as rough as guts, sorry!

Hopefully that makes sense. If you can extend the upright higher than the wheel so the bracket has something to rest on when it is rolled over onto the ground or at least put a strut on. Otherwise when you undo the wheel the bracket will drop down. Probably not a big deal.

If this isn't clear let's know.

                        Michael

PS: thanks for the kind words about the build, I am really happy with the 150. Just a few things to go.

Cheers for that. Need to look at a suitable hinge etc.

If you get a decent gate hinge it should be a bolt with a nut to hold on the other leaf. That way you can take the whole thing off if you want. And thinking about it maybe an overcentre catch rather than hasp and staple so you can pull that side down tight.

Are you still on the road?

A weld on hinge like this

Or a conventional gate hinge with a pin to stop it coming apart

And an overcentre latch to pull it all down nice and tight

                            Or something else!

Brought some stuff today. Will post some pics tomorrow when I start building it. For the hinge I went with a stub axle similar to whats used on a rear bar wheel carrier. The latch I will use the over centre latch.
