    Re: Hutch's 2007 V6 GXL

Hutch: looks good. The TJM bash plates look interesting, haven't seen those ones before. How do you fing the Bridgestone 694s? I see you're hoping to upgrade to LT spec tyres at some point, would you stick to Bridgies?

    Cheers,
    Sunday

PS: you won't regret the ARB deluxe bull bar upgrade when you get around to it. I reckon it's the best mod I've undertaken so far.

Nice one Hutch! I actually jumped on here to see if there were any posts from you about your suspension... - was in ARB last week and Pottsy mentioned you were booked in Friday.. so not only a post... but a Rig Buildup no less!! well done!! Lift looks good too... i wonder if you feel the onroad ride is better as i did.. i reckon much more smooth and compliant than standard..
      Well done..

The ride is certainly note quite as smooth as i remember yours, however it was a while ago. The sports shocks tend to be a bit sharper is the word i would use to describe the handling. In saying that i have only done 200k's, so a bit more settling in to happen yet.

Hey Hutch. Was looking at getting the ARB deluxe winch bar (without winch at this stage) and getting the same suspension set up as you have got. Unfortunately I can only do one at a time so was going to do suspension first then bar within a couple of months (hopefully). I saw a 120 Prado like yours at the local BCF on Saturday with the missus and I have shown her your build up so she likes the lift and is all for it. Do you think the ride will be ok without the bar?

Papo, first of all have a good chat to your local ARB guys, i would think they would tell you that if you are going to do an ARB deluxe then go 884 springs up front vs the 883 i have, the ARB bar will be a lot heavier than my alloy bar.
Just my opinion, but i would do the bar first then the suspension.

However if you do the lift first it would certainly be a bit rough at the front and maybe even a little high without the weight up front of the bar as the springs will be set to carry the extra weight which will give you a stiffer ride until you fit the bar.

It could also damage the CV's couldn't it?... before the weight of the bar comes into play...

I like the net, never had to test it out but on many occasions the car has been loaded to the roof, so works good in that respect. It also removes with in a minute which is good when we get to the parents and the 5yo has jump in the sixth seat, you can pull it out real quick.
