Great work , a couple of thoughts. You may want to make the holes along the lip of the jerry can holder a little larger for the people that want to secure them with wire with eyelets and a padlock. Like on the Kaymar ones.
Secondly I think a people will have a jerry can with the tap in the bottom, can you insert the jerry can into the holder with the tap in place.? ie in Photo 3? you dont want to have to muck around taking the tap in and out every tiem to remove the jerry can . I guess you could make the silt go all the way to the top if need be.

Do you have a pic what it looks like with the dual wheel carriers in place?
      Cheers

The Jerry can is easily put in and and taken out with the tap attached, also the holes are large enough to add a cable and a modest padlock if desired.

I haven't taken any pics with the 2 wheels on at this stage, home next week so will get onto that along with a million other things

        Cheers Andrew

          Andrew,
I could not tell from the photos re the tap, the Kaymar holders only come up about half way of the jerry so it is easily seen. Great you have thought of that as well. Nice work.
          Cheers

                Hi Andrew,

                That looks sensational!

Can I ask how you've attached it to the roof? Does it use the map and cabin light mounts or does it need to be screwed/attached through the roof carpet?

Might need a hat keeper myself after fathers day

Now available in AU... but at $1495.00 ?? seems a bit excessive

All went really well with the rear bar, only slight problem which I was aware of is the struts I got aren't quite strong enough when on an angle. I actually ordered new stronger ones but they sent the wrong ones (twice) with the second wrong set only arriving the afternoon before we left so too late to do anything about that. Even then it wasn't really an issue, for the jerry can it was good enough and the spare doesnt hit the door if the strut wont hold it, the tyre just rests on the black plastic around the OE number plate spot.

A few early complaints from Trish and Dj regards having to open the 2 carriers each time to access the back, but everyone came to terms with that pretty quickly

Come on Snaga, do you really think I would just put a few screws through the hood lining If you look at the picture below you can see one of the mounting brackets at the front (black with 2 holes) I also added a piece of 20 x 20 rhs attached to ribs under where the sunglasses holder was removed from, that bracket bolts to the RHS. Also you can see at the rear a slot in the timber, where the interior light was removed a screwed a braket to the ribs there with a bolt sticking straight down which goes through that slot and just put a large washer and a nut on the inside.

It could all be removed and returned to standard and nothing could be seen unless the light or sunglasses holder were removed.

It all handled 11,000 kms form our trip with over 5000kms of that being on dirt so pretty happy with it.

Surely some folks viewing this thread could fix this by giving it a 5 star rating!

5 stars is the least this rig deserves.

                            • So a few people have been asking me for pictures of the rear bar set up with twin wheel and what it looks like, so here it is.

There is enough room between the tyres to go to a 33" tyre if I ever go down that path.

And this is all you can see of the tyre in the rear view mirror, not very much at all.

                              Cheers Andrew
