Was having a search on Gumtree the other day and found a set of 4 genuine Toyota Prado steel rims.

They were asking $75 for them and thought it sounded alright so after making contact I went and had a look found I knew the guy so purchased 4 rims for $50. Now gives me a spare set for future use.

      Hi VK,

Nice build mate, what you've done with the fuse block and earth bus is awesome. I will be running mine exactly the same, does your jack come out easily enough? I notice ABR also sell the 60Amp inline Breaker, do you find your 40Amp is enough?

      Cheers,
      Jamie

G'day Jamie thanks for your comments. yes the jack does come out quite easily. Took a bit of fiddling making the template to ensure it all works but I am very happy how it ended up.
The 40amp breaker is enough for my needs. So far I only run a couple of outlets and my fridge and that adds up to no where near 40amps so plenty of room to move.

If you are interested in a copy of my template then just PM me your address and I will send one to you.

After winning the ORU winch at the 2014 GTG, the time to decide how I was going to mount it had come. Well with a 10 year wedding anniversary coming up Mrs VKPrado bought me an ARB deluxe winch bar so the decision was made.

Mrs VKPrado didn't want a white bar and I wasn't keen on a black one so when with the other option of a grey bar. This has tied in with the spare wheel cover and also the side steps.

So it was out with the old.

          In with the new.

Winch is mounted up now and happy how it all went. Will do some pictures of the winch a bit later.

            Under Body protection

My posts are a bit out of order but it doesn't matter at the end of the day.

When the 2014 GTG was announced as the Victorian High Country the decision was made to upgrade the underneath protection of the Prado. A set of UVP from ARB was sourced and fitted. After having issues with the instructions and some clearance issues with the exhaust all plates were fitted ready to serve and protect the underside.

No wonder you are keen for the low range stuff now - you want to test out the winch.

              The rig looks very good.

After the fittment of the ARB bar and winch the front end was then 15mm lower than before. With the 2015 GTG about to happen it was a good chance to fit this with a new set of springs.

So out with the 2884's and in with the 2885's. This has now lift the front back up and it doesn't feel like you are falling out the front of the Prado now.
