    ..

    steve... more looks..

me and the missus put a couple of dents in the roof doing it but no more than the previous owner, its all about the look of my rig to me, when i put the 40mm tube rack up there , i wont be polishing it any more on the top so bit of both... its only a ironman 40mm lift so once the winch goes in i'll re post my measurements as the suspension set up was for what i am doing ... lets see how much i loose in height ... once my 7 yr old,,,, turns ten,,, i may lift it up again , but till then its fine.. get sick off lifting him into the back of it with the side steps removed.. out the scrub .. who needs 'em hey...the side steps only hinder ...

    cheers butane

                      getting to know the cb

so far .. recon i've got it 3/4 worked out .. on my open scan got rid of all the repeaters except 05. set the duplex on for transmit on that emergency channel and stored it on the memory scan... know how to save my inst. channel now { don't have a favorite yet but listening with interest...} and worked out how to dual watch .. the favorite part of this c.b is the manual adjusting of the squelch to volume... just like old school simple... just dial it in to your industrial deafness... easy as up in the roof.. and i'm left handed ... and dont have those fat fingers with no grip.. lol ... I like my install mod to the rig... big plug for the "UNIDEN UH7740NB" & "KILPATRICK COMMUNICATIONS"... HAPPY AS LARRY

                      cheers butane

got the piano hinge for front plate / winch insert

finally chased up some 3mm s/s piano hinge and cut a piece of 3mm gal sheet to suit new number plate.. it will enable me to flip up the plate and get to the winch / still keepin'
the full air vent in the arb deluxe [ non winch ] bar... wink..

Looking good mate. I like the CB location. Did you get a wiring diagram with the Thompson solenoid? I found one on the web as I discovered that the posts are in reverse from other similar units.

actually bazza , now i think of it , correct....

been playing around on carpet getting a plan together and that is a bit of a hold point for me too.. i had too stop and work out,
also the layout of the lugs/cable and the 500amp cut out if the can be set up in the adli control box with the thompsen.. with a small backing plate . i can put the solenoid and where i want.. but the shut off...is a tight to fit...

dont get me wrong i can fit in the stock case,, but then i thought if i mount it on the bar its real easy to turn off.. would look the goods and be practical.. thats when i got stuck....

if i can nut it out, once the with insert and winch is installed i want the clutch release handle to be on the top of the bar.. extended with a rod .. hence if i put the power isolater next to it.. and i think i've nailed it there..
that meant the future spotties must be taken into account for their measurement. base . and location on the top of the bar too...got stuck again...

                                while i'm at it ,
the cable thro's in the control box arent sealing with the 25mm2 stock cable.. as i stripped the thro's and my new 35mm2 cable is the perfect fit ... so like bazza said, " that needs some sallastic if your not modifying the stock aldi leads thro into the control box... waterproof it... food for thought if ya bolting it on as stock.......

if you liked my radio in the roof baz ,, ya gunna love the aldi winch

                                cheers butane
