Finally got around to doing something tonight - installed an eBay special front grille mounted camera! Looks like the OE Kakadu camera however wider angle and adjustable.
Not a bad fit at all for $25 + $10 freight. Switch on dash to turn front camera on at any time. Should be handy on and off road.
Also the new all important PP sticker by Wozclean.
Oh and a shot from our weekend adventure with Craigm ad Hutch.
Cheers Daniel-----------------------

Would you happen to have the eBay link for the camera?
Cheers

Thanks. I have emailed the seller to see if they have any more for sale. Was the wiring straight forward?--Dave

The wiring was ok however it would be easier on a GXL with the Extreme Electronics GPS system, the VX one is a little different so I had to wire up my own switch. Easy to do but.
This is where I mounted my switches, they are Narva 63012BL On/On switches.
1 - is the trigger switch to turn the cameras on and the second is the camera select - being front or rear.
I was surprised with the camera viewing angle and how much I get to see that I normally would not.
Have to say that I am happy with my little mod.
Cheers Dan-----------------------

Did you have to modify the switches to make them fit and if so what did you do?Black 2009 150 Series D4D GXL Prado, TG150 Transfer Case & Actuator Guard, TJM T13 bar, TJM 9.5lb Winch, Airtec Snorkel, TJM steel sidesteps and sidebars, TJM Underbody Protection, TJM XGS Gold Suspension, Tinted, ARB Fridge Freezer, Couplertec System, Foxwing Awning, 80AH Dual battery, 8" indash GPS, Wet Seat seatcovers, GME TX3540, TX3110 & TX680, Maxtrax, Kaymar Dual Wheel Carrier, Breathers, Federal MT's.
