Hi Sam,Originally posted by hookedon4wding View PostHad my Firestone Coil-Rite airbags installed today. Very happy with the result. They were installed by Motor Court Toyota in Mornington, VIC and they did a brilliant job, particularly with the fabrication of the bracket at the back which is very neat.
Cheers, Sam.
Good work m8.
Can you tell me the product numbers of the Firestone bags - I couldn't find it by googling.
Thanks in advance

Hi 150GXL, this is from an email I received from Air Bag Man who distribute the Firestone Bags.
"The Airbag Man Coil-Rite™ airbag system is going to be a great investment for your vehicle. As well as the great levelling capabilities of our airbags, they will also help to stabilise the back end of your vehicle when loaded. The airbags come with a 2 year warranty. I have attached an info sheet for you to have a look at which will highlight the points just mentioned. Also attached is the installation instructions. I have listed below the details of the part you will need for your Prado.
Part Number: CR5013
Price: $295 inc GST
Availability: Stock Ex-Brisbane
The kit includes airbags, airline, inflation valves, and all other fittings required to fit the kit to your vehicle. All our kits have been designed to suit each specific vehicle. It is designed as a bolt on kit and can be installed with a few basic tools. It will generally take about 2 hours to fit this kit. However if you would like to have the kit fitted by someone else, please let me know and I can direct you towards your nearest dealer who will be able to supply and fit the product for you."150 GXL V6 Auto. Headed away to the Upper Yarra Reservoir on the weekend for a break from the daily grind and had a fantastic time. Nice spot to camp!
On another note, I've been speaking to Brendan from The Ultimate Suspension and am very close to ordering a kit from them. As I don't currently have a bull bar, but may get one in the future, Brendan has recommended a front strut with an adjustable spring seat. This way, I can safely raise the seat to account for the extra weight of the bar later on without risking damage to the CV's.
Anyone had experience with The Ultimate suspension? They seem to get excellent feedback on most forums (myswag, newtriton, newhilux, pajeroclub etc)
Check out the report and photos from the weekend if you're interested.
Here's a teaser photo!

i just happened to be looking at their website before i read your post. it appears as though their springs and shocks are 150 specific - have you confirmed this? shame they don't make a mono tube in 150 specs yet. also, the price is pretty reasonable.

Hi Louie, I believe their kit is specific for the 150 (they have a different kit for the 120 by the look of their website) but I have sent an email requesting clarification just to be sure.Originally posted by gxllouie View PostHey sam,

As I mentioned, I don't have a bar yet but want some extra clearance to prevent damaging the underbody when offroad (we do a lot of weekend and day trip in the High Country where a bit of lift would be extremely helpful.
Brendan has recommended raised height comfort springs front and rear (I have airbags in the rear already) with the adjustable struts to be able to compensate for the bar in the future if I get one.
FYI, there's some more discussion re The Ultimate Suspension on myswag.org (click here for the thread) if you're interested.
There's also a thread on 'lift before bar' that I started here which Brendan commented on (last page).

Emailed Ultimate to clarify whether the kit was just a modified 120 kit or one designed for the 150. Here's their reply.
"Hi Sam, I understand your concerns with the suspension and I can confirm that the suspension kit we supply is designed for the 150 series and your vehicle requirements."
I'll be ordering my kit shortly.

Hi guys, been looking for a tough looking wheel in black to update the Prado. Noone seems to make one that'll fit so I may have to look at some gunmetal ones instead. I have just found these CSA wheels.
What do you think? Does anyone have them on their vehicles? I quite like the look. Not too dissimlar to the Micky Thompson Sidebiters.
Cheers, Sam.

Ive have the same problem, been looking for a matt black alloy rim and just cant find anything that fits, or I should say anything I can afford!
The Procomps are awesome but very expensive.
http://www.tempetyres.com.au/product...ex=17+Inch+SUV
These are all quite reasonably priced
FYI, the wheels that have the red inserts, they come out so they are all black.
Check these and scroll down a bit, only problem for me on the 120 is they are 9".
Maybe thats ok for the 150???
BTW, cool videos

Yeah I think 9" is too wide.
I emailed Pro Comp today as they look great but they replied saying none of their wheels will fit the Prado??? Said they'd all be too wide.
Glad you like the videos
