You are correct Symo. I am heading off to do my Remote Aircraft Licence with CASA over the next 2 weeks (12 day course) that will allow me to fly my UAV for commercial and private use. The course is near you Symo in Brisbane. I am flying up on Sunday. Great pics Corigator and very impressive flying. I have been flying for quite a while and very aware of all the CASA requirements. CASA knows about my Hexa and the work that I do with it. All research based and testing different equipment and applications. The accident I had with mine was very low level flying 2 meters off the ground testing a new video system. Getting repaired the moment. I am moving the research into the commercial world so making sure that all the registrations and licencing is completed for it.

It is a great hobby also.

Symo. I think the guys doing stupid shit give other fpvers a bad name. flying down over and through traffic etc is just stupidy. myself and corrigators boy are flying in isolated areas with spotters. you have more chance of hurting someonedriving on your way to work than we do flying our toys. I know this is a public forum but let's not put a downer on this thread i started with the 12 commandments of CASA bs. Thanks for your input though

Stupidity on the operators part,model aircraft regardless of its design or intended use Should Never be flown over people and buildings because of potential injury or damage or the worst case scenario a fatality.
Unfortunatley the negligent operator has proberley made it a little harder for those doing the right thing.

I can only agree, Chappy. Licensed or not flying that close to people (particularly runners on uneven ground) is not legal and just plain stupid.

yeah it's a learning curve I recently upgraded to Gopro hero 3+ black edition and added a quad to the fleet.

quad has been alot of work ironing out problems.

i just learnt that when the memory card on my gopro3 gets full the screen on the fatsharks freezes! i heard my quad hit the ground before i realised what happened. i have had many 'teething' problems also but like pradopoint there are many helpful people online.

Ouch. i only record from my Gopro. i have a fatshark pan & tilt cam mounted on nose of quad for fpv. can pan it down when landing in a tight spot.

wow, Sounds good though that CASA are embracing the fact that the majority of hobbyist are doing the right thing

Give it a few years and i'll probably be able to purchase drone insurance through NRMA.
