Amazing having another look at the car to think the drivers door looks like it would open and close as normal. It has stood up VERY well.

Due respects to a great car. Thankfully my wife, my son, a great mate and myself are alive and well. No amount of money could ever replace that. Thanks for the well wishes.Last edited by Tones120; 13-06-2011, 01:16 AM.

That's all that matters mate it must have been horrific to go through and so glad to see you guys in reasonable health. I wouldn't wish that on anyone, I've been in a head on and can still recall the sights and sounds as if it was yesterday. Luckily I was on my own and my wife and kids wern't with me.Originally posted by Tones120 View PostDue respects to a great car. Thankfully my wife, my son, a great mate and myself are alive and well. I think I managed to stop short of the truck if I didn't I had wiped off ALOT of speed, the police said the truckie told them he was only doing 80-90 kms cos he'd just set off from a truck bay some km's up the road but I'm dubious about that as he had just come down a grade in the road. I've never driven trucks so i don't know, but the speed the truck came at us was fast and yes you brake hard when you see that! Thankfully I never crapped my pants cos that would've been a mess. By the way piggy I've always loved your avatar.Originally posted by Piggy View PostOuch glad all are relatively OK. Any idea of impact speed? Looks like Prado was braking pretty heavily by the upwards damage?Last edited by Tones120; 14-06-2011, 01:29 AM.

Thanks for sharing Tones. Your story sends shivers down my spine because my family (with my baby boy) regularly travel to Northampton as we have family there. The pictures show that 4WDing is not the only benefit to owning a Prado. I hope you all make a speedy recovery.
Any idea which stretch of road this happened? Was it north or south of Northampton?Last edited by Madkore; 14-06-2011, 02:49 PM.NOW FOR SALE!!! - 2004 Silver GXL 3lt 4spd Auto - ARB Bullbar, Safari Snorkel, Redarc Dual Battery System, Cooper ST MAXX, Dark Tint, IPF900XS spots, Raised Bilstein/Kings Suspension/Firestone Airbags, Autosafe Cargo Barrier, Sandgrabbers, Rola Roof Rack Stuff, Insect Screen, Dust/Wind Deflectors, Sheepskin/Black Duck Seatcovers, GME TX3510, ARB underbonnet compressor, Allied Hammer Rims, ARB UVP, AJ Sliders

I'm unsure, I rang AMSA to find the exact location after one of the guys on the scene set off his epirb (out of his boat) for the insurance report they told me it was 25kms north of the kalbarri turn off on the north west coastal hwy. Definitely will be packing mine on future road trips.Last edited by Tones120; 14-06-2011, 05:17 PM.
