I got forced to go shopping today - but every cloud has a silver lining. Going past a Clarks Rubber store I spied an offcut of 3 mm rubber sheet in a checkerplate pattern - just the right size - $40 later and it's in the car. Bek spied it and the look was like ... "What are you up to now ?" :?

Feral boy - who lives in the very back of the Prado (right next to the fridge so he can pass drinks forward) has a nasty habit of getting out at every stop and bringing samples of mud, sand, crud etc in on his boots. The only way to protect the carpet is to cover it with something. Sand Grabbers are the obvious choice but the Minister for Finance has put the Kybosh on capital expenditure for now - I've lifted enough.

So ... here's the results of an hour's work with a trimming knife ...

That should make it easier to keep clean. 8) 8) 8)

    Cheers
    Chippy

                Les,

As long as someone happy to do it, I am not really concerned how it is
done as long as it is done and requires minimum or no involvement on my or other mods part

nice chippy! made me get myself organised with a photo of mine. I managed to find some heavy duty sandcatcher carpet used out front of buildings and it was grey AND it was free! I decided to cover up the 3rd row seat mounts since we never use them.

also, we have furkids with claws and drool and so to protect the door panels we made up some vinyl covers. There is a plastic angle that hooks in near the window and it is cut in three panels and sewen into shape around the armrest. I use a wedge of black polystyrene to wedge into the handle to hold in place (and stops dogs feet going down the hole). Not super-pretty, but they are only in place when the mutts are in the back seat and they work a treat.

What a top idea Fishnut. I reckon the Furkids love it.

Got bored yesterday after our camping trip got binned at the last minute.
Made a mount for my 40 L Engel, copied the idea off a mate.

Use the seat mount bolts at the front, strap pics up the seat hooks at the back

It is only made from a bit of pine board, it what I had handy in the shed.

Also stuck a 200W inverter under the front seat to power the laptop so the missus can watch DVD's.

                          Hi Peter,
That fridge mount looks like a good idea and will suit my EvaCool 60 litre retro. I will have a look and see if I can do the same. Thanks for the inspiration.
I have put a link to your ideas into the main thread and will be updated when Stan gets back.
                          cheers

If you fit drawers you can reuse the factory tie down points on the top of the drawer unit.

                              Here's another one:

As it's Murphys law that when you slide your fridge out that something packed against it will fall behind it, stopping you from sliding it back in (resulting in half unpacking the back to sort it out)

I have modified my Engel slide by adding a cage. It's welded to the slide so it all comes out as one unit if I need the floor space.
It allows me to pack stuff right up against the fridge on all three sides, and also on top. By using mesh the fridge is still well vented and the mesh can be used to hook elastic "Monkey" straps and alike to.

Sorry only one pic uploaded at this stage. If anyones keen to copy it I will take some more.
