Nice job Adam .... certainly a great little mod that will tidy up that little cargo net.

The small fits straight in and you just need to trim a few mm from the outside of the medium (I used a steel rule and pocket knife) and voila...

I put some stick-on picture hooks to hold the top crate in position but it doesn't really need it. Oh and the cost, total less than $10!!!!!
I'm starting to think that this cracker of an idea is the best thing since the Hilux washer jet upgrade!!!!

I can't wait to give this one a go

I have it on double wiring where it comes ON when you unlock using a remote (good for night use when parked in a dark spot) or when you open the individual doors it light up only that particular one.

                    • Ebay was my source for the lights. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....m=250212096227..The best part about this light was it is compact in size and fits in well.

Before putting it on the Prado I had connected this to a spare battery and had it submerged in water for about 2 weeks. Just to confirmed it was waterproof. Last thing I wanted was having electrical issues.

Had other bits for wiring so only layout for me was lights itself..$44 including postage..

One small thing I have found particularly useful came from my wife.

On my Paj, the sun visor was not long enough when swung across to the side window. There was a significant gap to the pillar exactly where my head was - end result - annoying sun glare usually late in the arvo.

My wife made up a little curtain - 18cm high - which is threaded onto a piece of elastic. This was tied between the sun visor bracket and the hand-grips next to the B pillar. (Just like the old days with the curtains in the back of the "shagn wagon". )

:!: 18cm high was perfect for me in the Paj, as I could easily drop my head a couple of cm to see under it. I'll need to see if this is right for the Prado.

What I discovered after installing this arrangement was that it was so so easy to use.
The mini curtain is normally pushed back out of the way beside the B pillar, but as soon as the sun starts to come in, I can deploy it in a split second. I used it almost every morning going to work - just after dawn. In the city with its E-W, N-S grid road system its invaluable and you can also use it in combination with the normal visor on twisty open roads when the sun is coming in over the drivers corner.
                        Finally here's a photo or 2.

                        • Here's another item some may be interested in - particularly for those who don't have a bullbar.

                          A quick to deploy radiator-blind.

The straps are adjusted so that when the doors are closed it is tight, but just open the doors, unclip the bottom carabiners and then slide the strap loops off the mirrors.

The poly tarp was from Bunnings - ~1M x 1.6M although I have used it doubled over.

Quick and easy and the carabiners are clipped onto the metal brackets holding the bumper. (There's no where else that is not flimsy plastic.)

                            • I like the homemade process and do many project for the pleasure of it, but it can't get better than free from 4WD monthly. It was a Michelles Sacks product. It took a while to come but I have it now and it is excellent. These freebees and the bees knees.

                              • my spare key shattered before Christmas and i finally got around to getting the replacement off ebay. $29 for the key $3 for postage, $25 to get it cut... (the cut was expensive but i was happy to pay premium as they said they would replace it if they buggered it up)

multiplied by 2 so to replace them both at the same time.
