Yes... the homemaker baskets (especially the large size) are often out of stock - well at least here in Darwin. There are other brands that are also okay. We now have three baskets in place in our centre console: small (for coins), medium (for leatherman, charges, phones, etc) and large (for everything else).

      Pedro,
I don't know if you have it sorted already, but here are the codes for the baskets.
Homemaker Lifestyle Mini Crate Medium . Code on the back - 9300800707835
      Small - 9300800721077

      Hope this helps

Same story here in southern Sydney. I've tried a couple of K Marts but they have both been out of stock for months.

I rang a local store and they said there were no large ones in Australia and that there were limited stores in NSW and Darwin who had a few of the smaller ones in stock.
Will check out a few other stores for similar items.
              Thanks anyway for the help

                Deja Vu

I've just done this too! But used amber lights. Wired them off the trailer plug park lights and ran the wiring up through the chassis to keep it out of the way. Only 1 per side so far but they were so bright I balked at putting a 2nd one each side. I have the additional ones though If I ever pluck up the courage to stick em on. That'd be dangerously blingy though.... Interesting that we both ended up with the same mounting positions! I was going to place mine on the outer edge of the running boards but I imagined them getting wiped off all too easily.

These come on with the cab lights? Interesting Idea... I hadn't considered it. Mine simply come on with the park lights so idiots know exactly where I am when they pass me at night.

Homemaker Lifestyle mini crate small (19.2x16.8x13.4cm) and medium (25x22x15.5cm). The small fits straight in and you just need to trim a few mm from the outside of the medium (I used a steel rule and pocket knife) and voila...

I put some stick-on picture hooks to hold the top crate in position but it doesn't really need it. Oh and the cost, total less than $10!!!!!
For those driving Grandes who want to organise their centre console, I found a Decor Tellfresh 2.75 litre square storer (model number 000860) http://www.decor.com.au/usage/viewproducts.aspx?id=548 which will fit into the centre console/cooler. I got it from Bunnings for $3.73.

The lip of the storer will sit nicely on the top edge of the cooler, leaving you with 3-4 inches of height under the storer for other things. As with anything, a small modification is required to the storer. Unmodified, the console cover will not shut. Get a sharp Stanley knife and trim off the vertical piece above the storer's lid.

A big thanks to mjrandom for providing the idea. I'll head over to Kmart and look for the small crate for the bottom of the centre console. Hopefully, it is the same size.

I mounted a fire extinguisher last weekend, in addition to the one in the back.
I chose to put it under the driver's seat for easy access.
To save drilling holes on the floor I made up a simple bracket the uses the existing seat mounting holes. ( uses aliminium strip and pop rivets. )
Quite happy with the way this worked out - the seat still adjusts as normal and doesnt get in the way of feet at all.

FINALLY GOT PHOTOS TO STICK !!!

                    Cheers, Wayne

I spent a few hours today fitting the fire extinguisher that I bought earlier this week. I decided to go the way of ozwapet2 and put it in front of and under the driver's seat. I decided that cos it seems to be too long to fit into the foot-step in the back seats. Anyway here are the pix.
This is what the bracket to hold the extinguisher looks like when made. I had to make a few changes to the one that ozwapet2 made to get it to fit.

I had to make an S bracket for the inside connection to the seat bolt.

The outside bracket looks about the same.

                          This is the bracket assembled.

                          And the extinguisher in place.

And the finished product. The seat rides completely over the top of the extinguisher when the better half drives and the seat is right forward. The dark grey ends to the seat rails are now in place and the job is finished.

Nice work with the extinguisher. An easy to get to spot. I got some stickers from the local firies showing where the extinguisher is mounted so other people can find if the worst happens.

Great work on the fire extinguisher mount under the seat.

Quick question for Sunshine or Auswapet2 - what size aluminium bar did you use? (width/thickness). I'm planning on making a similar bracket but think the off-cut flat bar I currently have may be too big.

                              Many thanks

Good question - I just used some I had lying around and that fitted inside the bracket.
I have noticed the plastic covers sometime pop off - I think because of the extra height of the bolt - not sure what to do about that.
Mild steel bar could probably be used too - in fact if welded up would be much stronger.
