  • I can't fault our T-Van Murranji. So easy to use as a 30 second setup overnight or as a base camp. Given there are just the two of us there is plenty of room.Click image for larger version

Tvan would be my pick if I had the cash! Might think about a Cub soon.

      • Another vote for the Tvan. We take a lot is shi.... stuff with us when we do a two week camp and I struggled to find anything that came close to storing it for the trip to and fro but the Tvan swallowed the lot.

And for the over nighters it is ridiculously quick and easy to set up.

          • I've a 2007 cub supermatic escape off road model, been happy with the choice - just got to get out and use it more recently...

This is at Dwellingup in August one year - about 15 degrees

And Peoples Park Coral Bay in September the next year - about 32 degrees

1,200km further north in WA -and the weather completely different, great state over here!!

Behind the Prado, you forget your towing it ....

            Cheers Kim

BlackSeries Campers are the new name for GIC... You won't find many reviews online for them, and few people prepared to talk about them:

I am sure there will be plenty of other specials on offer to.

ps. I have no affiliation with this company. I only became aware of this offer due to the fact that I am currently considering purchasing one of these CT's myself.

A very solid unit. Still miss mine which never let us down.

                          • I have tried Tvans, Patriots and ended up settling with an Ultimate. Nothing beats them for comfort when its wet or if you are going to be set up for more than a few days. They are mostly fibreglass so are lightweight and wont rust if you are doing a lot of camping near salt water. They also have great resale value too. On the other hand, if you doing lots of one nighters or don't care about cooking in the rain. I concur that tvans and patriots might be better. Just depends on the style of camping you do.

I think MDC have improved their game. The Venturer (Cape York edition) looks a great buy to me

                              • This thread has been fantastic in the info it contains.

Up to now we have been tenting but after nearly being washed away in the last trip when a storm cell hit we decided its time to think about a camper trailer or van of some type. How do people get on when the canvas of their camper trailer gets soaked? It can't be much fun setting it up the next night with wet canvas. A friend has little hard top Avan which does not have such problems and reckons we should think about a hard top instead. The down side is we do some rough driving so such a unit would probably fall to pieces.
