Why is everyone (well lots of people) saying they would get a Patrol? Lots of Patrol drivers are changing to Prados and then saying they love the Prado. Is it just that we hate the 3lt motor that they currently have?

Good question Steve. I guess the bullet proof drive line and huge amount of suspension options sort of dragged me in.. And with a massive V8 diesel turbo up the front, it's a lotto only option for me

I think a visit to arctic trucks would be on the cards. Not sure what vehicle to take but whatever it was it would come back awesome.

              Steve.
Because people are taking this thread way to seriously!

Look who started it, Kav, not known for his serious demeanor when posting even in serious topics. And he clearly stated he wanted outrageous suggestions, something he can dream about when he falls asleep in a drunken stupor................ correct me if I am wrong Kav

Heck its a Toyota forum, if you want to be half serious and want V8 grunt, why not a Sas'ed and 6" lifted 200 series with 38" muddies after all we are talking stupid amounts of cash here, so why go with something out of the box?

              Cheers Andrew

                Steve.
Well after breaking a 4th CV axle I certainly would prefer the Patrols stronger driveline... I think that's perfectly justified.

(and definitely the 4.8L over the 3.0L TD)

Its hard to say what I would buy if I had unlimited funds but Im sure it would be top of the range 200 series fully decked out with every possible extra and a 28 footer behind me and you wouldn't see me for ages as Id be stopping where ever, when ever, for how ever long I liked and wouldn't give a shit how much it was costing me to do it ?? Then Id still have some thing that was road legal so I could get to where I wanted to go to with some of the extreme guys. Who knows. I don't even play lotto so I can keep dreaming unless I have a mega rich family member out there that I don't know about and he or she loves me to death lol.....Cheers Steve

I've been rethinking my choice and I've gotta say the Delorian monster truck does have merit. It would be nice to visit Fraser Island before it became infested with backpackers. I'd get the Mister Fusion mod though. And a mini bar for mojitos. And a raspberry licorice rope dispenser like in Wayne's World. Yeahhh, mojitos, raspberry licorice and a time traveling monster truck.

OH yeah, gotta have the Delorian with a flux capacitor, then I could make sure Reg Spriggs in a Bloody Nissan wasn't the first one to cross the Simmo!

I'd go for a 2004 lifted and locked Hilux! The last of the good shape before they went ugly!! I'd have everything replaced so it would be like brand new vehicle, canopy on the back etc etc...my reasoning is that when I had my old 4runner I took our dog everywhere I went, didnt care if he was wet and sandy, chuck him the back and it didnt matter.. but with the Prado..the poor buggers only been in it twice, I cant bring myself to having our only car smell like a stinky kelpie!!! A big lotto win would also have to involve a turbo diesel 70 series..fantastic looking bus!
