Try the link button that looks like an earth with a bit of chain. You click on it, enter (or paste) the link and hey presto: see here. Oh Highlight the text that you want to be the link.

Hover over the text near the face with your mouse.

                  Hello all,

I already knew this but it reinforced the lesson.

I turned out to a car accident with the local CFA brigade the other day. Two cars, and Astra and a Honda civic head on at about 60 kph each.

Neither driver touched his brakes at all because of the blind bend they were driving around.

The Astra driver wore his seat belt and had Airbags, he walked away without a scratch but was not happy.

The Honda driver, and passenger, did not wear their seat belts, did not have airbags and did not walk anywhere. Both survived, the driver was critical with head and internal injuries and his passenger was serious with head, chest and ankle injuries. The police suspected that they survived because they were dead drunk and did not brace themselves for the impact. Both cars were demolished totally.

I bought my Prado because it had 7 airbags and the Patrol had only 2. A lesson well learned and reinforced.

Wear seat belts at all times because the airbags are a supplimentary system only.

                  regards

                  Ross

That a well maintained track is not the one from Cocklebiddy on the Eyre Hwy through Arubiddy Homestead and on to Rawlinna as recommended by a work mate. I killed two tyres and, despite 600km on dirt, the trip still took 9 hours to do the 900km.

I learned, once again, that A-s-i-a-n-s can not drive. In my suburb, it's a lesson I re-learn every day.

I learned that the response "I found a nice sounding recipe for beef in red wine for the pressure cooker" to the question "what's for supper?" actually means the steak is in the freezer and I don't know if we have all the ingredients and you are the only who has used the new pressure cooker. I also discovered we didn't have all the ingredients, so I made it up. I also discovered that almost a whole bottle of Church Block disappears to get that elusive 1/2 cup of red wine.

today I learned that if you stop to help some townie joker that doesn't have a compressor after they aired down on the beach don't pump their tyres up first because your compressor will cook halfway through pumping up your first tyre forcing you to drive 70km on 12psi to the nearest air compressor...
And yes I did wait for mine to cool down before I started...

                              What I learned today...

I learned today (well two weeks ago) that when it is posted that it only takes 2hrs to change front suspension to remember that this only if you have done it a half dozen times before and know what you are doing.

3hrs later I completed the front right (and broke the ABS wire in the process) but 1hr after this had completed the front left without incident.

I learnt today (or more last night) that split cv boots can be patched with a fist full of cable ties and an old tyre tube for long enough to get you to a mechanic for some replacement parts. Not perfect but good enough to keep any more rubbish outve it for the 30km drive to have it fixed.
