Maybe if it is non Prado related, then its a bit different and they need to have contributed to the group with a certain number of posts.
Commercial adds I think either need to pay in some way to help the costs to run the group or at least offer a good discount to the members that they could not have got in the normal way of things

    cheers
    I agree totally with bitdist...

If it's something I can bolt onto my Prado at a bargain price I also don't mind if it's their first post...
Commercial selling... well again I agree with bitdist.

Of course, I'm not a mod and don't know what goes into policing all of this and as others have already said...

THANKS MODS FOR ALL YOUR GREAT WORK
    Cheers, Leon

Why not give the commercial posters their own forum in the marketplace? Might be something in it for the community - if they are good value they'll get some business - if they're not they'll go away of their own accord. If they are pests just boot'em

The question for me lies in the definition of an 'active Pradopoint member'.

I read page after page of information on this site however this is only my second post. I can see your frustration, but I'd be disappointed if I had to make unnecessary posts just to sell something.

You can also finish filling out your profile with location

The mods will easily spot those who post crap to get post counts up, it will be weeded out if required to avoid it filling up the forum with shite.

Totally agree with you Matt & Team Piggy(great name). I have been part of this wonderful site for around 6 months now and only found the 4 sale section about 2 weeks ago, i just could not get past all the great posts to find it. I now love the 4 sale bit. iam in the middle of buying two things already, so it would be sad to see it go. I think the maxuimun post thing should be increased. Rusty.

Team Piggy - not being wise in the way of forum management, this might be a silly question, but why dont you just make "location" a required field in the registration process? - that would save you repeating yourself over and over and over and over and over.........

nah great idea Viper - no dig intended

I for one have all you blokes to thank for pointing my VISA card toward the un-official "Pimp-a-Prado" toy catalogue. Without that influence, id just be driving "another Prado".

Easter-08 White GXL D4D Auto - delivered in near record time (5d) from placement of order. Has turned into a "Bermuda" or "Swiss fund" where $ get lost or converted into mods/accessories.

What I mean is that say after 20 posts you collect 1 credit which can be used to make a for sale thread. I know this can be done on some forum software but probably not with our current forum software.

The above would stop the flood gate effect whereby someone racks up the required number of post then the flood gates open and they swamp the for sale section.

That's a good idea Mav, i can ask a friend of mine if he knows how to do this.

Re: Getting beyond a joke.. PP is not Ebay !

Plenty of good ideas in here to help with the influx of for sale posts.

This forum is one of MANY forums I frequent and I must say it is one of the better if not the best organised site I am a member of. Wengnuts is on the pulse with the Marketplace and is always straight onto the threads that seem to sit idle for a while and cleans up all of the sold threads nice and quick.

The only suggestion I would make is one that has already been made and that is to have the moderator activate the for sale/wanted etc post once it has been submitted. That way the mod could send a PM to the posting party and make an informed decision as to whether it is legit or not.

I for one am one of those who dive straight into the Marketplace in the hope that there is a bargain lurking in there somewhere for me
