I can't believe you are still waiting in a private hospital, I went from the ED of my local private hospital to the operating theatre within 4 hours. In a public hospital I'd expect the delay but not in a private one. Have they done any imaging like an ultrasound or a CT scan yet?

The ultrasound... hehe... yes well. When she asked if she could go to the bathroom they said yes. Then when they wanted to do the Ultrasound they decided that because she no one had stopped from going to the toilet they would do an internal ultrasound.... I told them in a polite but firm manner they can wait until her bladder fills up again. She is 16. She doesn't need that level of uncomfort yet. I'd have no clue of the physical discomfort but I can only imagine the embarrassment and emotional discomfort that must have for a 16yo.Comment

We're in the The Dandenong Valley Private Hospital.
Our current day nurse has been fantastic. She is more than happy to spend the time and explain everything the best she can. I guess that's why she is a day nurse and the crotchety old lady last night is a night nurse.Comment

Fair enough, I just know I went from being just a bit crampy in the morning to full on agony by the end of the day. My surgeon couldn't believe I had worked that day (on my feet the entire shift too), he said I was not far off a rupture. Ultrasound was inconclusive by the way, surgeon told them not to bother with a CT scan and booked a theatre for me for a look with the camera. It helps that we knew it wasn't my gall bladder, that went about 16 months beforehand.Comment

LOL yes, I told the surgeon I was running out of disposable organs and had to stop meeting him like that. I was fortunate he was at the hospital that night, he did the gallbladder extraction as well but that wasn't an emergency op.Comment

hehe, there are far more interesting issues being talked about here. To stay on topic, piston 1 had a hole and cracked, piston 3 just cracked. Extended warranty to the rescue, the dealer got a new short motor from Toyota, the dealer is supplying a new top end and injectors etc, so complete new motor. Saved me the $22k or whatever it costs to replace the lot.
