    Ben,

Isn't it strange how it's always people who put in nothing begrudge those who take it seriously and actually enjoy helping to make a club or event work well?

        I get it :!: :!:

Sometimes it's like looking at those 3-D pictures - you just don't get it even though you are staring straight at it. And then it clicks

IMO your plates are a pretty obvious one to read - you often see the number 4 being utilised in place of the letter A on personalised plates.

It's funny you say that because that is what I now do. I use to park out the front on the street but the carpark is underground and I now park there hoping to catch the offending vehicle. I believe it to be a white 4WD. The centre is in a dead end street in a commercial area with a few other businesses and guess what I happened to see about 4 months afterwoods coming out of the street but a white 4WD with red paint on the front left corner. I couldn't turn to chase it and I don't know what driveway it came out of and I haven't seen it since.

Oh by the way the car I saw was a Prado  I am not saying this car was the offender but I wanted to closer examine the paint/height etc of this car.

After replacing the diff in the tractor and after I had cleaned up and showered, I forgot to packup the heavy duty vehicle stands, so I thought I would carrying them back to the garage (with thongs on  ) and one of the stopper pins falls out making the frame fall off and land on the edge on the top of my big toe which opened it up like a banana !! ops:

then .... driving oneself to hospital for repairs, I managed to drive through a 50km/hr speed camera at about 65ish km/hr. DOH !!! I new that thing was there !!! I think I am over the 7km error even with the dodgy prado speedo :x

then .... waiting about 8 hrs in A&E while blood drips all over the floor (using my theory that if my injury looked bad enough they may treat me quicker - NOT) the Triage Nurse says don't worry, just lift your leg up, you haven't broken anything, it is only a superficial cut and bruising !!

Anyway after about 45mins, my toe was literally scrubbed out, doust in disinfected and stitched up.

Looks like a stitched up swollen split banana now ops:

Might have caught the culprit with one of these installed!
There are a few different models on the market but I do not know anyone who has actually fitted one.

Not sure if those devices are going to be wide angle enough to capture all the details you need - OK for someone that hits the front or back of your car while the device is recording.

The second link has a video of a crash captured on film. If anything it's incriminating for both parties - the driver is obviously speeding by some margin - he covers a lot of busy urban terrain, including pedestrian crossings, very quickly and doesn't show a lot of anticipation of the car that pulls out slowly across his path.

The devices look similar to the kind of devices traffic cops are using these days to produce content for Fox 8 ... er, sorry, for law enforcement. I think this kind of device could well become standard devices in cars - together with black box type devices that capture all kinds of telemetry data. I'm a gadget man so it gets my thumbs up

As one Gadget man to another I take your point but these were just examples.
Another manufacturer has a mobile DVR with 4 x inputs so you could have front, rear and the sides covered if you wanted to, at a cost of course.
This is one that got my attention http://www.visionsolutions.com.au/recorder.htm but a bit on the expensive side.
Personally I would probably only use it when I am parked in shopping centres and the like and not when driving,
Obviously each individual has control as to where and when it would be used.

The company I work for manufactures and sells a large range of products including security and surveillance equipment.
I think there are enough wide angle cameras on the market to satisfy most requirements at a reasonable price.

Well, I guess I'm growing more cynical as time goes by but I've now come to expect "service without a smile". I've actually been in a shop where the staff were openly complaining about all the #$@@%@ customers. The number of times of late that I've started talking to a salesperson that simply didn't give a damn beggars belief! About 2 years ago we went into a bike shop to get some bikes for ourselves. The salesguy started off enthusiastically, but the second we said weren't looking for anything too expensive he became extremely disinterested in us and took on a very bored persona. Left that place without a word. Bugger them!

I also needed to get the radiator replaced in my old Lux a few years back. Rang a Natrad store and got a guy on the phone who really didn't want to be talking to customers on the phone. After a few minutes of sticking with him I just basically ended the conversation and hung up. Bugger them! If they're not interested then neither am I. I rang another smaller business and got a guy who couldn't do enough to help me out. Next morning my car was there! See how this works.........

We bought some furniture from from Furniture Spot. A dressing table. I was loading it on the back of my Lux, on my own I might add with no help from the once again extremely disinterested store staff. One of the drawers simply fell apart when I took it out of the dresser to load it on the Lux tray. @#$#@$@%#$%! Took it back into the store expecting someone to be horrified that what I'd just bought had fallen apart. extremely disinterested! Yeah we might be able to fix this in a fortnight when our carpenter gets back from the Maldives......... Yawn........ Pathetic! They didn't give one iota of a damn! Seemed to think there was nothing particularly wrong with merchandise falling apart as it was being loaded in the store carpark. I was thinking complete replacement on the spot! Not them...... Bugger them then!

I was in a Telstra shop near the time when the CDMA phones were being phased out. At the time there was a lot of angst among the people who'd switched from CDMA to NextG because the NextG phones simply didn't have the coverage that CDMA had. Online forums were filled with very angry people saying that they wanted their CDMA phones back because NextG was useless. Added to that, at the time the list of NextG phones were all cheap and nasty and people were praying for Nokia to bring one out, which they eventually did. So I went into a Telstra shop and began asking about how long my CDMA phone would last for, and the woman I spoke with immediately became the icequeen incarnate and started giving me very curt and clipped replies. She was clearly not interested in talking on the subject at all!. I was going to buy a NextG phone that very day but bugger them! In hindsight I think that woman might have had a run in with peeved ex-CDMA people losing their cool, and thought "here we go again" when I came in asking questions about the changeover. I will not ever go back to that store and have told as many people as possible not to go there. I went to another Telstra shop and got a girl who simply couldn't do enough to help me. Bought a new phone on the spot. See how this works..........

Yep, this has got to me so much over the years I now tell them straight out: I was going to buy from you today but due to your attitude I'm going elsewhere...they get very helpful but not enough for my liking.

Recently got a lot of quotes for some rather expensive photography gear...some are interested until you tell them you're also a student...(but probably spend a lot more in 3 years than some pros do in 10), others just don't seem to give a damn whether you are thinking of buying or not (also, the profit margin on high end pro camera is nothing compared to profit on point and shoot). One store quoted me about 40% more than what I ended getting it for. I specifically went back with 6 bags from the store I bought the gear from and told them I will be supporting that store from now on.

Last night went to a restaurant and we ordered a few deals with mains and desert included. Sat for 45 mins. with hungry kids before finally getting mains, after a long time they took our plates and didn't bring desert. We waited another hr until I finally got up and asked (I'm pretty patient but they weren't busy at all), no apology, just went on as if nothing was wrong and 2 mins we had our desert.

As I was paying on the way out I asked for a discount (I expected we deserved a free meal actually) because they completely forgot us. The bloke just literally LAUGHED at us and charged us the full amount    . Wont be going back there (Pancake Parlour, Eastland shopping centre, Ringwood).
