The coppers finally arrived and asked us was there any truth in his outrageous claims of assault; we of course denied it and that was it. Nothing further heard. I doubt he'll try that kind of thing again (plus it's hard to use a spray can wth broken fingers).

So you traded your moral ground and showed the kid it's ok to break the law and lie about it.

I know this is a common approach, but we also know that kids learn by example, and they are smart enough to work out what's going on. I wonder what he would have done when he was older and in the same situation...

In my case, he was in his mid-twenties and well beyond any object lesson.

I guess there must be something in the air at the moment as I was just sitting in a red arrow lane with a bunch of other cars when some kids in a beat up old laser went by and sprayed all our cars with some sticky substance. :evil: They were using the plastic sauce containers to spray whatever it was, it was not sauce more like a honey/water solution. Luckily it was not acid or something like brake fluid, I went and washed the car and it all came off with no problem but the kids seem to be totally out of control these days.

I just went and got a little plastic container and glued a magnet in the bottom and made a small circuit for a infrared sensor and a high pitched whistle . If you get in the sensor ( set for only 2m ) this thing goes off like a fire cracker. very similar to a front driveway light just no light thats all.

I will make it my mission to upgrade this over the next few weekends with pictures

Sould see if I could hook it up to a stebal truck horn!!!!! :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

Ha, that's great babs. That reminds me of a setup that a mate of mine used to have. He had some jokers coming down the side of his property snooping in the backyard, so he set up a sensor like yours attached to a solenoid on the hose. He pointed the hose straight down the path and turned off the sensor lights. Anyone sneaking down there in the dark copped a full serve of high pressure water with no warning. Would have scared the crap outta them - worked a treat!
