Gate decided to blow shut on me as I was reversing out of the drive today....
Drivers Mirror: Busted into bits including the framing..
Front guard: Dented from mirror hitting it.
Front door: Plastic bottom trim gouged from gate.
Rear door: Window frame and glass scratched and rubbers torn.
Roof line: Scratched to metal..
Rear 1/4: Scratched in 4 places..
FFS..... I am going back to bed...
And my insurance was changed to another company 11 days ago, this isnt going to look good....
Sorry to hear it TP, I can understand how you would feel. PS This thread is useless without "pitchers"
If it makes you feel any better I backed into a tree in kuipto forest a few weekends ago (even have a bloody reverse camera installed too). Luckily I was only going slow and the only thing hurt was my pride ops: The tree came into contact with the rear mounted tyre on the back so nothing scratched or bumped luckily
My story was that I couldnt see the reversing screen due to the angle of the sun, and the bloody boot was roof high of camping gear.

Not nice TP. with the little things that have stuffed our Prado up lately i know how it feels.
Somehow it's got to justify getting something more done to the Prado that you've wanted though....??
Ouch not a good thing at all TP  . After enjoying your company here in Tassie, it is no good at all to hear about this now you have arrived home. Good chance to get any other marks taken out when the repairs happen.

Sorry to hear that Brook. My wife reversed ours into a brick pillar in the garage with one of the rear doors open after having the car for three weeks. Being a noisy disel I would have thought she would hear with a door open.
Hope the insurance will cover it all. Realstically they should but might be a few more questions. If it you had been with them for a couple of months then I doubt there would be any probs.
I had a near miss the other day. Had the back door open in the garage whilst making up my false floor when the Mrs hit the panel lift roller door button so she could get her car out. Somehow the door opened without touching the Prado, so I did a repeat putting the door down to see how close..... If the paint was any thicker there would have been some carnage. Sorry to hear about your mess TP.
Anyway, I've been forced to make an insurance claim after being with a new insurer for 4 days. I know how you feel.....
