I've flashed my headlights at a few of these idiots lately... I'm sure they just start looking for a speed camera or something because the headlights don't come on

New class categories and tolls mean a 31% increase in my tolls for the Gateway Bridge

Caravans and motorhome drivers that enjoy hugging the centre line. Back from a return trip to Brisbane, very annoying trying to see beyond them when attempting to overtake.

I'm while I'm at it, although probably not likely to read this post, the driver of a little silver hyundai hire car who attempted to overtake another vehicle as I drew alongside causing me to hit the picks and attempt to swerve at highway speed, not very cool. I wish I had upgraded to an airhorn as my little Tojo horn just didn't do my emotions justice at the time...I might add this same car about 20 clicks down the road then decided to pull out in front of an oncoming vehicle causing everyone else to hit the picks in expectation of the worst...you my friend have earned youself the wanker award... :!:

Agreed, Saturday traffic is worse than weekday traffic as people don't know where they are going. At least in weekday peak the traffic flows and most people have 1/2 an idea where they're going.

Agree totally, Saturday is by far the worst day of the week for traffic.

Took the young fella out for a scooter lesson last weekend.

We are riding down the dual carriageway at a tad over 60 Km/hr (in a 70 zone - its a scooter).
Jay's up front, L plates on, visi vest on - sitting in the left side of the left lane as his instructor has told him.

I'm on my Firestorm behind him, sitting in the right side of the left lane .....

..... when along comes a white 120 series Prado in the right lane.

Overtakes me ..... then indicates once and pulls in ... right on top of Jay.
He's come in from behind and alongside Jay .... so Jay had no idea he was there.

He can't give me any bullshit about not being able to see Jay.
I reckon he was on his phone organising his next latte appointment with his hairdresser.

I've got both helmets set up with bluetooth comms and I'm screaming at Jay to brake.
Jays come to a dead stop and this idiot has come all the way across.

If Jay was still in the lane he would have been punted halfway up the verge.

I resisted the temptation to get Jay to park and to follow this moron home ....
.... but I do have the rego ... and its a local ... so we'll meet again.

                        Cheers

                          Damn 120 drivers

Seriously though... it seems like the Driving component of being in control of a vehicle has fallen way down the list of priorities. Well below texting, eating, smoking, screaming at the kids etc, etc.......

On the way between jobs on Tuesday I got stuck in some accident traffic at Chandler... after clearing that accident about 2k's towards Carindale there was a poor bloke pinned in his drivers seat by a tree.... he obviously didn't see the traffic stopped in front of him, wonder what was distracting him from his duties as a driver?

Bloody white 120 series drivers - no I had a bad experience 20 years ago riding with my mate , bike vs truck truck pulled off a side street on to canning h'wy only option was to drop the bike and slide under truck which he did but did the truck was a tad heavy for him to survive - I have not ridden a bike on the city roads since

                            • Re: Things that tick you off!

I understand, and probably it was inconsiderate and dangerous of the 120 driver.

Though, I would also add that if a motorised vehicle cannot keep up with the flow of traffic, then it presents a hazard too; often to the motorists who are several vehicles behind. I regularly see scooters sitting >10ks under the speed limit on the Gold Coast and in a position that leaves everyone wondering whether they want to ride on the shoulder or on the road. It's becomes a judgement call by the driver as to whether they pass in the same lane or drive around or sit behind them.

My 2c... stick to roads where the scooter is easily able to maintain the speed limit.

Underpowered also means unable to escape from potentially dangerous situations. Naturally, there's a balance... I bet Jay would like a little more power too .

                              LFaR.
PS: Yes, I do keep a safe distance from scooters... in the same way as I keep a safe distance from cyclists on the road.
