    Have sat on making a claim currently.

    Theres a couple leads on cheap replacemnt mirrors, and I may just fix the bits myself with help of a panel beater mate. Not sure if I can be bothered claiming... still deciding..

    And yes the gate has 3 big dents in it now.. Weldng up a frame to make it a slider as we speak, gonna motorise the bloody thing..

        Motorising is a great idea until your better half :?: unplugs it to use the blower and forgets to put it back in :|
        I hop in the car -press the remote- hit reverse- and BANG :shock: The Bl#3*y door is still down but with a Bl3#*y great dent in it :x
        I felt like inserting the plug in her ear :wink:
        No, that would have blacked out the whole city :roll:

          Know the feeling, Piggy. Had something similar happen while out caching near Melton earlier this year. Scratches all down the passenger side. Thank goodness for lifetime no-claim.

            Sorry to hear TP.

            In consolation.... our other car is a Tarago and my wife normally drives that. One day, she comes home and unloads the boot but forgets to shut the tailgate. She goes inside the house and uses the remote to shut the panel lift garage door. So the garage door shuts no problem except that every hinge joint puts a scratch to the lip of the tailgate.

            Then it's the afternoon school run and she goes out to open the garage door. it gets stuck halfway up as one of the hinges catch the lip of the tailgate. So then she tries to close it again and the hinges scratches the tailgate even more. Then she tries to open the garage door again (yes more scratches) and it gets stuck. By this time, she figures out that the tailgate is causing the problem and so reaches under the garage door, finds the tailgate, pull it down shut, [more scratches] and the garage door is now 'free'.

                The "Oh S$%t" Club...

                I don't like being a part of the Oh S$%t club or Team Piggys' "D@mn it !!! " club but I am now :evil:

                On the way home being the good boy I stopped at the Woolworths store off Concord road and while standing next to my Prado a shopping trolley come barreling down the hill and smacked the crap out of door :!: There are big dents next to the door handle on the passenger door right side....very ugly :evil:

                Really pi#$#$s me off. I take should good care of my 4wd and just as with previous most damage I ever incur is not off road but in the city.

                  That is terrible news. sorry to hear that.

                    Can you claim against the supermarket as it was their carpark and their trolley?

                    It is no good to hear of this as it makes me cringe everytime I know my Prado is going to the supermarket.

                      We have made a claim with the assistant mgr who was to fax it to the head office. The better half followed up today and they have not seen the claim, said the mgr used the wrong claim etc etc. They would not give us a copy of the claim either.

                      Thing is even when you take out my incident it's somewhat dangerous. The trolleys are at the top of the hill of this little car park, no restraints etc. The trolley that hit my Prado first grazed a late model 200 Landcruiser.

                        Go back today and get information on who to contact at the main office. Go over there head and make sure you keep a note book with all this written down in. Show them this when you go and see the manager that you are not going to just roll over on this and take it. Take pictures and all. The more pitcures the better and provide them a copy of the pictures.

                            Our local useless ARB reseller, order a battery tray (ARB fits in back left passenger side) told them for a 2009 120 series D4D diesel, took a month and a half to arrive and cost $165 .
                            Went to fit this morning dismantled car and found it will not fit insructions seem to be missing the point that the D4D has an injection module next to the fuel filter and the tray will not fit along with the existing wiring harness. :? So reassembled the car and took tray back, usual 'we don't know' and ARB (Darwin) are updating their computers from PC to Mac and can't help till monday, oh and they can not refund the money because they don't know how to refund back to charge card. :x

                            Long story short spent a great part of today searching this wonderful site checking out pictures and such and then found thread which tells me that there are additional parts required to fit the mongrel tray to a D4D and it would appear that ARB Darwin and local mob do not know this or care for that matter. :evil:
                            Can't wait till Monday to let them know how useless they are and how great this site is!

                                You will never guess they admitted they got it wrong :shock: but it will still take at least a week and a half to get the 'new' correct battery tray here to Alice from Darwin :evil: (if they have it in stock of course) and some of you say "just go down to your local 4wd reseller and get something fitted" yea right :roll:
                                No such thing as customer service here but at least it backs up what NT stands for
