Steve, yes unfortunately Coopers ST Maxx. Radial splits about 1/2" from rim. Are being replaced under warranty though but I just wonder if the new ones will be better.

That's interesting re the Coopers, as I am currently in the market for some new tyres, and do have 2 Cooper ATR's on the car. I was told by one tyre retailer that I had the bad batch and that the ATR was discontinued for the same reason (as mine too are cracking in between the tread blocks). He was heavily pushing the new ST Maxx tyres. I think I will go with another brand.

Had Bighorns, great off road hopeless on road. Never heard a bad thing about BFG A/T's but wanted a slightly more aggressive tyre so went the Coopers. Even then it was a toss up between Coopers and Mickey's, but seeing they come out of the same factory I went with the tread pattern I liked better.

Really hope I don't live to regret my choice.

Other than seeing Dodgy Dave's Mickey T sidewall ripped on the GTG, I haven't heard bad stuff about them. Coopers on the other hand..........

FYI - ARB bars are still made in the AUS factory. As far as I know they tried to outsource but coupdnt rely on the quality??

Well was told by a good source that now they have built there own factory in asia and make them there but have sent a few Aussie people over there as quality testers to make sure there quality is still as good. I am looking into it cause I want to try and buy Aussie made and if there not making it here then makes buying Aussie made a lot harder.

Yep they have a factory in Thailand, about 5 years now, bars are still made here.

On my last trip into the high country with another Prado who had the new Coopers and he left me for dead once it got a bit wet. Enough to make me consider changing over at my next tyre change.

Yeah just spoke to the product manager at Arb Melbourne he said that they make the bars here in melb offered me a tour of the warehouse to show me so happy now to buy the arb bar for a little.dear and keep the money in aus.

My weigh in vote on mickey atz have never let me down or punchered had friends with coopers some with some with problems but each to the own on how u drive and how hard u push them I have had the mickey roll of the.rim and cuts up the side from rocks.and they still work today.

At the GTG I put 29 tickets in to win the ARB compressor and was beaten by a guy who only put 3 tickets in. To say I was disappointed was an understatment but it was all good fun and I did win a transer guard later on so that sort of softened the blow.
