I've been running my maglights on LEDs for a while now. I'd say it's about 3 to 5x as good. Beam is more focussed, about 3 times brighter and the spectrum of the light produced is white rather than dull orange so it's clear and easier to see. What's everyone else think?

That's a great price for a Maglite LED conversion... I see at Rays Outdoors it's around $60 for one.

How do you guys rate the light output of the Maglite LEDs? Might change mine over.

      Mick
I was in Anaconda today and they wanted $69 per LED upgrade  Highway robbery if you ask me. There were some online sites here in AUS that were half that when I was looking around.

I agree with Ninpo04....light output is higher but more focused. No longer have a hole or hallow when focused tight.

At some point they will probably offer a 5 watt (upgrade is a 3 watt) which will be even better

Just thought some of you may be interested to know that if you take out a 10 issue subscription to 4WD Action magazine at the moment you can get a LED Lenser V-Focus torch as a free gift. There are other gifts to choose from as well.

Based on your reviews I reckon I'll get one through the 4WD Action subscription deal. Will investigate the LED upgrade for my Maglite as well.

        Cheers

                    G'day everyone! Remember me?

Unfortunately there isn't a lot of margin in these torches for us to do any amazing discounts, particularly given the RRP on the P7 is $129 and a number of pradopointers have already purchased from us at our eBay price.

I can match the ledtorches.com.au price ($2ish cheaper at $85 posted) if you call us direct on 1300 796 960 but not on sales through eBay (sellers fees are steep).

                    Haha

Why do you think I've been away from PP for so long! :-)

Trying to earn money to pay for all the stuff I've purchased for my 120!

I'm glad it's not just me. Should I bore you all with my list of torches? Maglites, Maglites with LED upgrades, LED Lensers (P7 and the old Tactical Focus), endless torches everywhere. My wife thinks I'm nuts. They are handy when living on acreage on a moonless night though! :-)

Good to catch up again everyone - take care,

Just to add my 2c worth.

I ordered a LedLenser V2 torch the other day via http://www.ledtorches.com.au on 6 Aug. The next morning Marco from the Store called and said he was out of stock, but offered to do the P7 (which is actually much brighter and about the same size) for the same price - free delivery. And it arrived express post today.

   Damn its BRIGHT

This one will easily fit into the glove box or any of the pockets of the car and will become a very handy addition for any night work. It comes standard with a carry case, belt clip, and strap.

Highly recommended... in fact... I might have to buy another!! 8)

Thanks to all, bought mine sight unseen based upon recommendations of the group and it arrived Friday. Pleased to say I am not disappointed. The build quality is excellent and the performance is great for a small torch. Thinking about strapping two to the bullbar and using them instead of the Prado high beam.

                                Cheers
