I noticed it too as I have been away for a few days and not logged on. Very slow today.

Yeah it's been painfully slow these last few days, and yesterday I kept getting SQL errors when trying to post stuff. Can't wait for this site update the admins are promising

              Re: Is the forum slow?

I for one would pay $20 membership per year for a web page and forum. There ar heaps of people that devote their time to this forum and I think with a little pain from every member this could be taken to the next level.

There is a wealth of knowledge and ingenuity from members and I expect it would not be hard to accumulate this on web pages for easy reference. The catch being, access is only to subscribing members who would input there interest eg 90, 120, 150, state, day trips, weekend trips etc.

I would think sponsorship and links to supplier sites would be easier also if they could see the membership are serious and subribe with paid membership. Potential sponsors would include the myriad of people that are promoted free on this site such as ARB, TJM, Maxtrax, IPF, etc etc.

I'm sure that amongst our membership we have people who have expertise in web design, marketing and other useful areas to make this all happen with the end result being a well maintained kick ass web site and forum. In the meatime, I am grateful for the forum, its dedicated volunteers and the contributions of some devoted members.

Oh, and the delays that give me an excuse to grab a coffee

This on the other hand, is very correct. Any excuse for a coffee and smoke will do and this is better than others...

As for the speed? Seemed alot better last night and still running well this morning... Hopefully stays that way for a while...

Its been odd for me too, sometimes cant load.. I will ask Aaron, but these things do happen.. I think he said he is putting us on a dedicated server when the forum change happens, and he is a busy man who has a real job so we wont bother him to have it happen faster..

Currently getting SQL errors when trying to check PM's. The rest of the forum is fine otherwise but a tad slow. Just saying, not complaining.

                        Like this one amts? lol

Hey just a thought... It seems like the forum is beginning to crumble away. I've seen forums crash in the process completely wiping every thread and post... I'd hate to see PradoPoint suffer the fate. I wonder if the admin keeps backups of the forum?

Pradopoint is taking 6 times as long as google to respond to pings. I seem to be getting 400 bad requests every day and the sever doesn't understand me  (those who've seen it will get it)

OMG! Just imagine, a completely fresh 1,762 queries on "what tyres will fit my Prado", closely followed by 1,699 queries on "Why won't my windows operate from the driver side any more?"

If it crashes and we lose all posts everyone is invited to Sockdraw.com where we can discuss the joys, thrills and spills of organising our socks :P
