Mav, Looks like you made it to Tamworth in good time!!!
Yeah, but I will fess up. It is freakin freezing here so I wimped out of setting up the camper and took a motel room instead. At 5:20pm it was 0C outside and by the time I reached Tamworth it was -1C. Brrrrrrrr!
The camper is towing nicely and the Polyairs certainly make a huge difference, this is a heavy camper at 1200 kg unloaded. Fuel economy has taken a hit but not too badly considering I had to go up Cunninghams Gap and it is up and down ranges all the way to Tamworth. I have gone through 90 litres from Brissy to Tamworth.

Safe driving Mav,
Long trip you've had. Im sure you will enjoy the comfort of the new camper. Well worth the trip.
Zoom in and change the image to Satelite......It looked first thing this morning like he went back about 20 or 30 klms to a factory complex the other side of the river. All appears good now though,
Yeah, I thought I would see if the Port Augusta BP had the new BP Ultimate Diesel but no such luck, all I got from the attendant was "huh, never heard of it." I got the same response from the guy at Glendambo too. I used the BP Ultimate Diesel in Brissy and it rocks! I would use it exclusively if it were available everywhere. So I figured if the Pt Augusta BP did not have it I may as well go over the road to the Shell and benefit from the Shell card discount. So that is why I back tracked this morning.
The weather was not all that kind either as it was blowing a force 10 gale pretty much all the way to the NT border. I went through 50 litres just driving from Port Augusta to Glendambo, I think I came off lightly though from the comments I was hearing over the UHF from the caravaners heading north. All were complaining about how the wind was severely affecting their fuel economy. My scan guage showed numerous times of between 30 and 40 litres per 100 kms as the wind howled. I can only imagine what the folks with the caravans were doing economy wise, I reckon a lot of them just decided to pull over for the day and let the wind blow itself out.
