Its the first test England have won at Lords since 1932 so the British press will be doing cartwheels (as was I)
Some very average umpire decisions mind, could have been a different story........shame

I do think England have more strength in depth, but I would NEVER write off the Aussies.

My prediction - 3 draws to come so England by a whisker.

Ben - cricket is much easier to understand. Here's the basic rules:

 You have two sides, one out in the field and one in.
 Each man that's in the side that's in goes out, and when he's out he comes in and the next man goes in until he's out.
 When they are all out, the side that's out comes in and the side thats been in goes out and tries to get those coming in, out.
 Sometimes you get men still in and not out.

 When a man goes out to go in, the men who are out try to get him out, and when he is out he goes in and the next man in goes out and goes in.
 There are two men called umpires who stay all out all the time and they decide when the men who are in are out. When both sides have been in and all the men have out, and both sides have been out twice after all the men have been in, including those who are not out, that is the end of the game!

                Simple.

Oh, almost forget. In baseball, when the pitcher hits the batter with the ball, everyone gets upset and he gets a free run to first base. In Cricket, if the bowler hits the batter with the ball, the crowd erupts and, if the batter is lucky, he might be allowed to go to hospital (retired hurt). If the bowler is lucky, he will have bowled a 'no ball' and will get to repeat the action!

The Aussies have got it together now. Should be a walk in the park, unless Freddie comes back and is completely fit.... But will they bring in Hauritz for the turn at The Oval? Then who will get the boot?

                          Re: The Ashes

Must say it is funny to see Brett Lee as the second emergency pace bowler. Even Hauritz gets considered before Lee.

The Poms have been outplayed for most of the series but did play well in the first test and deserved their win. Without Freddie - no chance.

                            Re: The Ashes

Dont count your chickens boys, after the mauling in the fourth test the Aussies are firm favourites. But the poms traditionally only ever perform when they are perceived as underdogs.

Its still most definatley up for grabs

Hopefully it will be even until the end, but the typical English Summer weather may be against the Poms............

                                C'mon England C'mon England

What a second days play. Great bowling by both sides.

The one thing for sure is that these umpires should never stand in another test match again. The Clark dismissal was a disgrace - and that is from a Pom's point of view!!

This test could be over in 3 days and I am boldly predicting the Poms to win with Freddy to take the last wicket :P
