Bit off the topic but I have to throw this one out the the wider community as we don't know anybody with a Corolla/manual.
A few months back we bought a Corolla for the wife to use as a daily run about.
When started from cold it revs to 1500-1800rpm during the warm up cycle (even now in summer). I find this quite excessive (I know my way around many makes and models and from experience would say 1000 - 1200 rpm is the warm up cycle for most 4 cylinders)
I've checked the idle control valve and checked for fault codes.
I have been told this is normal :?: Toyota tech) I can't believe this, it sounds terrible when it jumps straight to 1800rpm when cold and I shudder everytime I start it.
So... anybody out there have a current model Corolla with manual transmission? can you confirm the warm up cycle RPM?
Mick
