Re: Hail Damage on the Prado
Luckily we were out of town when this happened. Went to buckland valley, and came back a day earlier due the rain. The Hume Hwy was like a raging riverat about 5pm today after a huge downpour that dropped visability down to about 50 mt. Apparently the water reached a level where it covered the wheels of a prime mover.[size=1][i]2006 GXL Petrol 5spd auto, with LPG gas conversion, ARB deluxe bar with T-Max 9000lb winch, lightforce XGT driving lights, reverse sensors, Toyota towbar, roof bars and basket, Yokohama AT/S tyres, tinted windows, GME UHF radio, home made rear draws, waeco cf60 fridge, Auto-Craft ridepro 2"lift kit, snorkel, pirahna dual battery system, cub offroad spacematic camper

Re: Hail Damage on the Prado
My pride and joy suffered hail damage on Saturday parked near Chadstone shopping centre (unfortunately not under it!). Didn't notice the damage until yesterday ---- a large number of small dents on the roof and bonnet and a couple on the driver's side.Geoff

Re: Hail Damage on the Prado
Chester,
Good timing and and a great bit of luck. Allot of the half decent panel beaters in the eastern suburbs are booked out for a few weeks just to do quotes. My luck I'm in Rowville which along with Lysterfeild, Ferntree Gully and Boronia where some of the worst hit areas. Not to mention I also have a kitchen ceiling that is starting to look ominous.
The pictures above are not of my Prado. They have been posted from another forum. Luckily no windows where smashed just every other panel.

Re: Hail Damage on the Prado
Drove past Werner Toyota FT Gully about an hour ago - at least one dark grey 150 Prado with many dents. Looked like they were writing something on the windscreens in texta. Maybe "hail sale" prices, or just marking for the assessors, I couldn't tell.
( and anyway Mythbusters proved that a car with golfball like dimples all over gets an extra 10% fuel economy -) :wink:Cheers, Wayne

Yep, there will be a few dealerships here in westoz shortly trying to sell "hail damaged" repaired new vehicles.
We always seem to get the stuff that the east coast doesn't want.Dave
