    I had the memorable experience a few years ago when I had my Frontera, driving through swarms on my way back to Gilgandra to see my parents.
    The engine temp became quite hot as the locusts were building up in the gap between the radiator and the air con condenser.
    It took ages to get them all out once I got back home and the smell hung around for weeks. Toasted grasshoppers... Yum :evil:
    I also rode through a swarm many years ago on my motorbike, on my way to Lake Cargelligo.
    My visor became so thick with gunk that I rode with it up for as long as I could but the pain from the insects hitting my face became too much so I had to slow down to a crawl.
    I reckon that I rode into the servo at West Wyalong looking like an extra off the Braveheart movie, all covered in yellow, brown and green :shock:

      Yep i hear ya 15 bucks at car lovers was in order just to get the front half clean. and they are still in there i found hot soapy water through the gurney going from the back of the radiators to the front seemed to be the method

      Any idea how to get them all out of the intercooler???
      Dont list all ya mods, you will only be more upset when i get further

        I too went interstate for easter to SA and visited my sister. I got as far as Hay for the first night, looked at other vehicles coming from SA towards Sydney and realised that i would need some mesh for the radiator and air con condensor. Got some Metal flyscreen (for strength) and cable tied it about 50 mm off the radiator. I didnt cop it as bad as you lot did but i am happy to say that my Coolers are both clean and free of gunk. Managed with a roof rack and roof top bag an overall average of 15.6 L/100km and that was driving at speed limit of upto 110 where permitted. Very happy with the truck on its first big drive. Looking forward to many more.

          Good work frank i think the most pissed off guy i say was around Tocumwall with his silver Ferrari that looked like a hippo had thown up all over the front. He was on the side of the road cleaning out his air intakes and did not look happy

                      I'll be out bush somewhere fighting off the Victorians, New South Welshman, Crow eaters and Fourex lovers whilst trying to find some gold before all they do.
                      They should all be searched at the border and have their detectors confiscated.

                                had an 03 gx 120 with some gear now got a 2013 bt 50 GT auto some ARB gear.
