      Re: Best laid plans..

Well done Matt. Good to see there are still people out there willing to help others in need out. In regards the Copper, i think it will depend on the day or situation in which u catch them. I was inderectly involved in an accident on the F6 on the way home to the Gong on Wednesday before Easter. Basically 1 lane was blocked by the Mitsu 380 sedan. Everyone out of the way and all people safe, i dragged the car off the road to avoid any further accidents due the clowns still driving at max speed past the acco. When the cops arrived, they didnt whinge or nothing. Got a small statement off me , told them i moved the car for obvious reasons, and they were cool with it- goes to show not all are wankers. (no im not affilliated on any way with Police or other government department :| )
Back on topic, glad to hear your story has a nice/good ending, and you can proudly say that you made the best choice for the situation bar none.

        Re: Best laid plans..

Not nearly as serious as Matts experience a while back, but today while travelling from Innisfail to Atherton i was following a little red shitbox, the driver must have lost concentration on the road for a split second ran off onto the wet grass on the roadside and slid straight down the embankment. The four people in the car were all ok and the car should be alright as well, they were bloody lucky that the thick weeds on the roadside were enough to stop them as it was probably another 20 feet past where they stopped to flat ground. Given the wet road with a lot of traffic and being on a bend we decided to call the emergency authorities to set up some traffic control before they attempted a recovery of the vehicle.

The driver and his friends were all from overseas and very keen for us to help rather than involve the police! not sure but i suspect they might be illegal workers, and it was their "bosses car"

We left soon after the ambulance and the first CFS (or whatever the QLD equivilant is) arrived, we passed the local copper heading to the scene shortly after.

        Cheers Andrew
