Re: Moving South: Darwin to Canberra

      Thanks all.

Well, we had a long few days driving between Thursday and Saturday. We drove to Banka Banka Station on Thursday, Cadney Homestead on Friday and finally (here) Wilmington on Saturday afternoon.

The Prado performed perfectly (almost effortlessly). The camper trailer also followed along perfectly as well. Every time we use our camper trailer it re-confirms how good a set-up it is for us. By way of an example, on Saturday morning we had all showered, fully packed up (with three kids) and were on the road within 45 minutes total - easy.

The Prado cruised along the highway at 110km eating the kilometres in its stride. Everyone was comfortable in the car and, despite the very long daily distances, it was a joy to drive. Purchasing both the Prado and Camper Trailer have been two of the best decisions we've made.

We've now earnt about a week in the Flinders Ranges just relaxing and not having to drive long distances for a little while.

Will update my profile location soon - as we're officially no longer Territorians

ps. despite passing many other Prado's, didn't happen to spot any PP stickers. Now that I'm in the Southern States and will be moving between SA, Vic, NSW and ACT - I challenge everyone in those areas to keep an eye out for my rig and see if you can 'tag' me with a photo.

Good luck to you and your family down in Canberra David. Even Wilimington will be on the cool side at the moment I reckon. Safe driving for the remainder of your journey mate.

          Thanks Mav.

The kids were excited to find frost on the camper trailer this morning. A vert different experience from NT weather.

Will be doing a bit of a tour around the Clare Valley region tomorrow - so keep an eye out for me if you're in the area.

Would be nice be have to work. Will be passing that way on Friday when we head up to the Bendleby Ranges for the weekend. If you are in the area let me know and will try and catch up. Will be going up through Blyth, Clare, Jamestown, Orrorroo and then into The Springs. Probably at Clare around lunchish.

Re: Moving South: Darwin to Canberra

Will be driving over to Mildura tomorrow for a couple of nights. Slowly making our way towards our final destination - Canberra.

While in Mildura, we will also check out a couple of the restaurants recommended by D4D.

Unfortunaely that wears off after a little while. I lived in Canberra region for eleven years, and although I loved the lifestyle, I don't miss the extreme cold.
2008 Diesel Prado with extra stuff added. I drive it on the road and other places too.
