    Chippy,

Even though your decision to buy a 4WD was a logistical one, it's good to see you actually take it off road and use it for what it was designed for.

Nothing gets up my snout more than the Mums at the school driving Prados because they think it's nice to have a big truck to drag their kids around in.

It's just a pet hate of mine. I have to see waste and to me it's a waste to have someone driving such a well engineered and capable vehicle when they have no idea what that funny little gear stick is for.

    Cheers,

    Drew.

Yeah ... it stops the handbag rolling onto the floor as they reach for the lippy, while turning a corner, checking to see their hair's OK, and tapping out a text message to the girlfriends to meet for a latte.

        Couldn't agree more.

        Cheers

          There certainly seems to be a lot of;
          a. Upper end job roles
          b. Higher pay bracket
          c. Family guy
          d. ..... while stilll keen on getting it dirty on the weekends (the car guys, the car)

          Just my $0.02

Not exactly, I'd assume, but a part of it. The rest (the majority, who don't mod their cars and don't go off road very often) don't bother with forums like this!

(By the way, a, b and c don't apply to me! I got mine cheap!)

That sounds like the mums who drop their kids off out the front of my school - in the brand new Prado - before ducking off to the Cappucino strip in Freo for a Latte or 10.

The only time they go off road is when they park it on the front lawn and pay the neighbour's kid to wash it. :x

              Matt,

I had the opposite problem today - called out just before lunch as one of the mine dewatering bore pumps we look after failed. Pretty sure it is a broken shaft between motors and pump - looks like we will be busy next week pulling it out. Approx. 30 m long motor and pump assembly 400 m down a hole - lots of fun!

What mine do you work at? I do a lot of work for Clarence, Springvale and Angus Place collieries.

What do I do for a living?

I was in Local Government Management for umpteen years but saw the light and for the past 4 yrs I have been a carer to my mum in law, (till she died) owner builder, consultant, builders Labourer, contractor to a fibre optic cable laying company (Did someone say Lane Cove Tunnel?) and now doing a spot of carpentry.

My passion, however is landscape photography....Outback Oz anyone?

I'm a Program Manager with TAFE NSW. The job involves designing training programs, consulting with industry, developing learning and assessment resources and conducting professional development sessions. I mainly work with various agricultural, equine and animal care industries. Keeps me busy, pays the bills and funded the prado.

Same here, love the game but tend to spend most of my time among the trees or in the sand - I don't know why they have nice green fairways - I don't use them

Geez what a great job John.
As Drew has mentioned previously it's amazing how many people on this forum are associated with aviation.
                                Must be a Prado thing?

I must confess I do actually fly myself..................
Yeah, "by the seat of my pants"
