  • Currently I am an Emergency Medical Dispatcher for the Qld Ambulance Service in Communications. There are three areas, acute (or emergency), non-acute (patient transport), and QCC (QEMS - looks after the choppers and planes), I am qualified in all three areas. All will be set to change shortly! As of Sunday a week ago, I finished my 6 year long (part time) Bachelor of Nursing degree, and as of the 21st Jan I will be starting as a graduate RN. Scarey times ahead!

Jeff is a business analyst for a company that provides IT solutions to insurance companies and insurance brokers. His company is essentially a go-between for the companies and insurance brokers, and provides products and support to both.

    • I suppose I better come clean and write down what my real job is  (don't click HERE)
I work for Coles Supermarkets as a Dairy Manager at our local store.
I have worked with Coles since 1980 and whilst it is an ordinary job, it has paid the mortgage and put food on the table to raise a family. Now days it supports our passion of outdoors lifesyle and touring in the Prado.
Pretty good job when you wake up in the morning and still feel like going to work after 27 years.
      cheers

      • Thats what its all about Les.

Work to live, not live to work.

Having a large bank balance is awesome, but not so if you have to practically divorce your family to do so.

Money aint everything, thats for sure.

Oh yeah, my knees are still good.

                            • Guilty as charged ops: I've been a ppointer for a while, but only just catching up on some of the longer threads.

I've been in the IT industry for 25 years and so have seen a lot of technology changes. We had access to e-mail and internet way before it became a public utility, but what a difference it has made to everyone's lives now - especially forums like this one.

I've thrown away the soldering iron though (for work anyway) and currently work in the Consulting area, helping large corporates and governments get the best out of their business systems.

It pays for Prado toys and camping equipment, but tends to also keep me on Qantas planes a lot (which is OK - 'cause like other members, aviation is also a passion).
