Wow,
I checked and replied to this thread too long ago.
Pictures do tell a thousand words. All those pics are great.
And some of those senery shots are truly amazing.
djolsen4wdtours .... You even get paid for doing that... I'd feel guilty. Beautiful.
I am pretty sure that there would not be a question that could not be answered from the collection of people here...

Reminds me of my safari in Africa. Somebody forgot the corkscrew and for several days we had to live on nothing but food and water.

I noticed in a couple of your pics there is a Kimberely camper on one of your tours.Just wondering how do the campers hold up in the outback.Id rather hear it from you than the the marketing people.

I'm an Insurance Broker and have been so for quite some time. An Insurance Broker represents the client - it's a bit different - but we like to make sure the claim settlement is in accordance with the policy! eg Always look after the client.
In other words, we like to screw the insurance co. Always happy to provide free and non binding insurance advice to fellow members. There has been a few threads on insurance difficulties and they are interesting. Different insurers will treat your claim differentlly, but I am always here to help - just PM me.
Please PM if you have an insurance problem.

Yes it is a great job, but like all jobs, we work hard to earn every cent. Let's just say it isn't all beer and skittles.
Re trailers- we have an environmental and safety obligation to exclude trailers from some tours. The Kimberley is a heavy trailer but tough. Minor issue with batteries and electrics aside, they seem to handle the not so rough stuff OK.
I know one thing they are water proof. :-)

Hi djolson4wdtours,
If im not mistaken your first couple of pics are from Chambers Pillar in Alice Springs.
I had a workshop in Alice several years ago and took advantage of some tours while i was there and for anyone who hasnt been there, there is so much to see the scenery is just incredible
The first photo is of the campsite looking towards Castle Rock. The pano shot is at the base of the rock column ie part way up the rock where the explorers carved their initials. You can see the initials of Alfred Giles and the date 1870. Giles worked on construction of the Overland Telegraph, and later supplied telegraph stations.

I am glad to see somebody else throw some pictures into the Intros I think they give a different perspective to what we do and what our hobbies are.
Gday Boreman !
What are you towing behind the Steiger in the second shot ?
It is a Tree planter. It grades the topsoil away rips a 400mm trench and mounds the soil and plants a seedling every 2-4 metres. I use it to plant jam trees to host sandlewood trees that I plant one year later. Made in WA It is awesome we can plant 6000 seedlings per day.
Insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result.
