      Mine simply comes from the rego plate I've held since about 1986/87.

      Wasn't such a common saying back then, and a lot of people couldn't/didn't get it (even after I put a spot of black 'leccie tape on each side of the '2'), but everyone understands now!

        Mine came from when I was a first year apprentice. Working in an underground coal mine I was required to wear safety glasses. I needed prescription ones which were not very flattering. I sort of looked like a white version of Steve Urkel (remember him!!!) The lenses were very thick and one of my tradesmen used to take the pi$$ and say they would put the Hubble telescope to shame. Hubble stuck!!!!

        The 80 is the year I was born...

        Pretty funny as I have been around the Qld U/G mines for the last 14 years and my nickname/s have been pretty similar.

        Hubble - as above,
        Hubba Bubba - I got drunk at a Christmas party and the boys reckon it sounded like I had a mouth full of bubblegum.
        Bubbles - I also float to the surface.
        Now it is Bubblear$e. I have put on a bit of beef!!!

          I am not going to say much about how I got my nickname of rowdy.

          My user name came about because I caught a nice 12kg Spanish Mackerel off Kalbarri WA.

              I was at work installing 2 x 'switch'mode power supplies inside a couple of "buggery boxes" I was building and also configuring 2 x cisco 'switch'es at the same time I was signing up to pradopoint.

              I thought switched at the time seemed like a good idea.

                      From playing with my normal cars in mud and getting stuck then bought a 4 x 4 and it stuck
                      ...If its not on all 4's it's not on.....

                        It's the car's name, which came from the QLD plates when it was purchased, which ended in "LNL", which is better than the WA ones, which start with "DAG"
                        Gone - 2006 TD Manual - Silver
                        Current X3 35i (offroad capability limited, but 0-100 in 5.9 seconds...) - no Prados in Canada
                        Return to Oz, something new and prado like (will miss actual acceleration)

                          Aussie - I love my country! Very patriotic! No better place to live. It upsets me the sooo many people don't know what's beyond their city limits but are scrimping and saving to travel abroad. Oh well, less traffic for me to go and enjoy it 8)

                            Interesting reading, cool how nick names or pradopoint ids are founded.

                            Mine is part high school, part travel

                            backo is from my last name, and was a footy thing (backo backo kick it!)
                            and rasta is from when we took a year off around the world, most people we worked with in Brazil just couldn't remember my name, so called me 'rasta'- as I have dreads.

                            Still have the dreads (7 years later mind you), and now a simple combo -rastabacko
