    i just say i going to do this and the minister for fun and finance says WTF for, i reply because i can, then replies over my dead body, then i reply the shovels in the shed start digging. walks out shaking head and im in the pooh for a few days, but she gets over it. it took me 2 years to get as fridge, 1 month to get a winch and 3 days to get a diff lock so im wearing her down. cheers samo happy wife is a happy life :lol:
    had an 03 gx 120 with some gear now got a 2013 bt 50 GT auto some ARB gear.

      After getting my prado the wife and I went for a bit of a drive and found some easy but rutted tracks. the prado was dragging her belly everywhere so a subtle hint of a 2" lift would give it just enough height to clear the ruts. a bit later on in the day it was dragging its belly again and the wife says to me "gee it really needs a lift kit". so when we got home I priced them up and got an OME kit fitted before she could change her mind.


      Got the wife to buy me a fridge for xmas a few years ago 'so we don't have soggy food from melting ice when camping. got the fridge and then of course to be able to run it I need dual batterys, so in they went!!!

      A set of mud tyres came up on prado rims at a price that is 'too good not to buy them. besides, the prado needs new tyres soon anyway, and the rims will be good when we get the camper trailer you want so we have matching spares'

      got to buy the bargains when they come up, retail price is $........... more. I know we cant really afford it, but at that price we can't afford not too..... (thats always a good one)


      I can get around most things but I do need help convincing her that the alloy bullbar is no good and I need to replace it with a colour coded steel ARB winch bar. any suggestions?

            HA! i read this and was amazed how we are all so similar, i have tried 90% of the things mentioned above.

            when i got my first 4wd, a hilux, i ran it into a bank about 4 days after i picked it up. i said if we had a bullbar we would have been ok there, along with the necessary safety arguments.
            not long after it was fitted we hit a roo on holidays in the backwoods near kosciusko. Reaffirmed her good judgement in approving the purchase

            i just was approved to get a snorkel for her birthday, because of the above argument.

                If i was to add something frivalous to the Prado i guess i would have to ask for approval, seeing how as i have only added the absolute bare essentials i have never bothered seeking approval :wink:
                It also helps that i am the minister for finance in our house, SWMBO doesn't even know what the password to check our bank balance; unless she asks me, which she almost never does.
                SWMBO is far from being the handbrake out in the bush, i often have to be the one to say sorry that is just to difficult. Of course when we get the new widget fitted we can come back and have another go

                    Ask her while she is in labour full of happy gas and morphine that's how I got the kaymar rear bar.....lol

                          I'm very interested in this thread as a new snorkel goes on next week; a dual battery system the week after; I have just ordered a TP09X1 GPS/Radio/DVD/Reversing Camera thingy from Matt; and 5 new tyres in 3 weeks time. Something is going on but nobody knows what at this point!! NOR how much it is going to cost!!
                          But the house is being washed down and new curtains are being ordered too: will that help?????

Planning a road trip from ACT to Cairns & Back. Things on list - Some sort of tablet topographical map / car computer - winch, car fridge, roof racks, DIY rear shelving/drawers - boat.
