Yeah it gets pretty cold here, I've been living here about 4 years now and only just getting used to it. My excuse is I moved here, the pay is good and it helps me buy my mods!! Ohh and theres nothing wrong with having the snowies close by, makes for beautiful camping. Yeah not sure about all the politicians and their public servants - their inability to 'do' keeps me employed.

Keen to see this thread move from a position of people "seeking approval from the missus" to a more manly position of "doing stuff or presenting ideas that the wife is cool with"... its a much more empowering thought. Especially for those of you who have already been told to wear a pink tu tu. Trying to say this as nicely as I can, we're having a hard enough time as men these days being what we are.

My favourite trick is to go and get the car form her work car park, get the stuff fitted and then put the car back before she finishes work. Just yesterday pulled this trick and had Couplertec rust prevention (she'll never evn know about this one) and Outback Idea recovery points, this morning she asked what are the shiny red things, shook her head and went off to work.

Wife is Japanese and hates 4wding and camping...

So I just tell her I need it or I can't go away camping without it and it's done...

She gets revenge when she goes back to japan each year and says she "needs" all new stuff to come home.
I always relent too cause I'm a hopeless cook and hate housework!

So my excuse leaves her alone and her excuses get my maid back...

Mate, my wife is also Japanese and loves 4wding and camping. Just get her on a good trip with some good company and weather first time out and go from there. Try to find some fusion between Japanese cuisine and camping cuisine. It does exist. Noodles and soups are wonderful camping food and the Japanese are really good at prepackaged stuff. Endless rice dishes are easily prepared at a camp site. But you'll need some good gear to keep her happy! If you want her to come with you invite her on our next outing... PPGTG 2011

My wife loves to drive the truck, loves camping, loves touring/exploring and most of all loves challenging dedicated 4wd tracks. I find that most mods on my mind are easily planted in her sub-conscious, in pursuit of her interests and now have to rein her in! Bliss

SWMBO in our family is just as keen as I am on 4WDriving but is getting the dirts over not being invited on the "Recce's" we are doing for the GTG this year. This is keeping her mind off the mods at present.
