    Gtg 2013 - attentions all victorians!!!

    Hi All,

    As it will be Victoria's Turn to host, (going off comments from 2011 GTG), I would like to start planning for the 2013 Prado GTG.
    Would all those who are interested in Assisting in the Planning and Running the GTG, please submit your name below.

    I would like to arrange some meetings during Feb / March to discuss ideas on Where to host the GTG.

      Most of the good high country tracks are closed from Queens Birthday (Jun) until Cup day (Nov) so you're pretty limited on dates.

      I'd suggest buying the Hema 'Victoria High Country Atlas & Guide' and use the track and trip notes already prepared.

      If you go into the High Country you'll have limit groups to 6-8 vehicles otherwise it is unmanageable on some of the tighter/harder tracks.

        Hi,

        All the more reason to start now, as we have only 6 months of access, before the tracks are closed.
        It needs to be ready by Dec 2012 in my view, if we are going to the High Country, which is what previous GTG Attendees have requested.

        This doesn't get put together in 5 mins. There is alot to consider and areas to check out to house 30+ Vehicles and Campers

            gday pradogxl08 i dont think its to early to orginise some pradopointers need time to orginise im one of them so count me in for now unless the dates dont work for me time will tell.

                2016 I'm off to Canada so will have to concentrate on that to keep SHMBO happy. Just in case someone was going to plan that far ahead.

                    Hi all
                    This may or maynot help you but our 4x4 club has just come back from the high country with a pretty large group.
                    We had 21 cars and camper trailers base camping in the wannangatta valley for 10 days .We did day trips' overnight
                    trips from there which worked ok To give a example we did day trips up tracks like water spur ,tea tree then down
                    hart spur track also over to billy goats and the pinnacles .The over night trips consisted of going over to blue rag
                    via brewery track then down to Dargo for a over night stop then onto eagle vale track and herne spur .The other
                    over nighter was over to Craigs hut we stayed at howqua hut then up the 16 mile jeep track ,king billy then
                    zeka .We did all these tracks with 10 -12 cars easily with no hold ups .I hope this might give you some idea,s

                      There is an article in issue 29 of Camper Trailer Touring about the high country and going from Heyfeild to Kosciusko that might be worth reading for ideas.

                            Hi Everyone,

                            I have had a sad week, as I had to put down one of my pets, and combine that with my elderly mother being in hospital with broken ribs and nose, after a fall.

                            Unfortunately this has taken a backseat at the moment.

                            I am also waiting on information from my own club regarding the Tolmie area, so I can then arrange for a meeting to discuss ideas.
