I'd be keen to lend assistance where i can seeing as though my wife was putting the idea into peoples heads at the last GTG but at the moment we are both working on opposite week on week off shifts and with 3 kids it does get a bit hectic. Coming from Sydney originally I've been living in melbourne for about 6 years and i'm ashamed to say I havent been to the high country myself yet, but as i said more than willing to assist and attend things where we can.
      Cheers,

      Mick

        Hey Stuart,

If you need information about tracks in the high country I can get a lot of information from work. I work for the forestry department and can get track notes, road closures and make maps up for the trip. Just let me know if you need a hand.

        Cheers,

I can help if required. We spent a week in wonnagatta last month. Heaps of good tracks and varying degrees of difficulty. Magical time with family and others from the 4x4 club

            Hi Everyone,

I wish to advise that due to Family reasons (My Mother) I will be unable to continue to push this topic along, that I started.
It was my intention of having a BBQ GTG at Lara to discuss ideas, however that at this stage won't be happening.

I hope everyone understands, that my mother comes first as I am her carer.

Bump, thought Hibbo might run with this. Perhaps we can all go for a sleepover in the new house if Amanda has moved everything in.

PS hope all is well with Mum Stuart.

                Regards Adam

I was under the impression from the 2012 GTG that the victorians had planned to have the 2014 GTG, due to the constricted time frame in which to plan for a 2013 trip early in the year to catch open tracks?

Maybe I miss heard? weasal4x4 might be able to confim? or any other victorians?

                        hehehe.

The joys of organising these events.

You all have my utmost respect and best wishes, but I will be sitting back here in SA thinking "Thanks God I don't have to be involved in organising another one!

That said, happy to assist your sponsorship committee in raising serious prizes

When you get a committee organized let me know and I can send you some thoughts on where to start and what worked and what didn't from this years GTG.

                          Cheers Andrew

The Vic G2G was discussed at length at this years event, and we had sort of penciled in 2014, last I heard anyways. We all thought 2013 was too short a notice as the best time of year for up there would be April/ May. Not too hot, not too cold, not too close to xmas and with no track closures. This then puts a 2013 G2G a mere 6 months away...possibly too soon?
I am glad this topic has been started though, as in 2 weeks I will be up in the Dargo/ Wannagatta area for a week. I am going to take extensive notes on camp site sizes, locations, facilities etc. I will be more than happy to be apart of the committee, whether it be 2013 or 14.
                            Cheers.

Oh and Adam, Amanda has been packing all the boxes while I have been working. I will be working the day we move to so I think I win!

                                Hi everyone,
Wether it be 2013 or 2014 I am happy to help where I can. I have been up the high country once and I am going back next month with some guys that have a lot of experience up there.
If it ends up being 2014, will there be a 2013 GTG?
                                Cheers, Josh
