Well it has been a while since I wrote mainly because I have had all sorts of logging on issues (that’s to you mods) also because I have been working hard, and mainly because I am a lazy bastard, so I will comment no more.
A fair bit has happened since we landed in WA as most would know I got a job in the mines, some bastard broke into our car and stole Gens camera and he engagement ring and I have managed to go almost 2 years without changing my rego plates over as I always will be a Mexican even though I grew up in Newcastle.
Well what have we achieved in WA. Gen has got a new engagement ring and as I am working in the mines it was twice as expensive as the original one her logic. Gen also got a new camera and refer to my previous statement as to its cost. We have done a fair bit of travel up around the coral bay, Exmouth area as well as down in the bottom corner around Albany. I have got some good mining experience that I think I can use to transfer to other areas.
While we have enjoyed our time, work wise I have done all that I wanted and we also have both got itchy feet so yep you guessed it in a couple of months we are hitting the road again. We are doing one more road trip up coral bay area in May and then back on the road full time come October. The loose plan atm is as follows.
Head down to the bottom corner of WA and do Albany, Bremmer and Esperance areas with a detour up to the goldfields for a look, then across the Nullarbor into Coffin Bay and around that area. Do the tour down under in Adelaide if I can line it up. The Barossa and Claire will have to be done as my wine supplies will be dangerously low by then.
From SA we will go back into Victoria concentrating on the East coast side around Wonthaggi and all that as I have never been there even though I lived in Melbourne for 3 years then up the NSW coast stopping at all those surf spots I loved as a kid.
From there we want to go into QLD and work our way up to Makay doing the usual Fraser coast and the like then check out the QLD mining scene to see if I can get some work up there. If I have no luck I will then see what else is around.
Why are we doing this? WA has helped us wipe out all of our debts and we always had the dream of doing another big trip with no debt so we can go where the wind takes us a bit more and if it all goes to shit we are pretty confident we could get work back here if we came this way. Also the roster is taking its toll on me and I feel like I need a decent break before we get back into it again.
As for the prado she just ticked over 200k and all is still going well I will probably just get the injectors done as the rest is going well I thought I will hang on to her for a couple more years yet. I also did not want to buy a new car and then slap 20,000 on it in the first 4 months.
So what I need from you guys
The must see spots in the areas mentioned above
The good pub meals to be had
The best national and van parks
And who has free beer and will let us camp like hobos in their front yard
