Another fun filled Prado Point trip.

We all made it to the chilly Zig Zag car park by 9:30, said Hello and it was nice to meet more people from the forum, we had 2 x 80 series and 3 x 150's and unfortunately, James didn’t make it.

Air was removed from the tyres and we headed off for Happy Valley for the first use of low range, test of clearance and some mud. We continued on and for some reason no one was interested in a track on the right (if you have been there, you know thetrack) but there was evidence of others having a big go at it. We eventually came back near the main road and decided to follow the power lines through to the wombat holes which we all completed without any dramas.

From there we headed to Glenn’s diff breaker for some more fun. When we got to the bog hole, a large group coming from the opposite direct gave us some amusement by bogging a monster V8 shorty (could be a jeep, could be a Nissan, too much mud to tell) in the bog hole but it did sound very nice when they went up the hill when we were in the diff breakers.

The group happily followed me into the diff breakers and may have been surprised by the track change after I turned the corner. We all had a heap of fun and after everyone was through decided it was a nice place for lunch.

From here we headed somewhere on the power lines (past moon rock I believe) and tested the articulation even further. We all made it and it is amazing how capable a fairly stock 80 is, made it look so easy. At the end of this track we found a track to the Lost City.

The view from where we went, of the lost city, was amazing and well worth the effort, I think there were more photos taken here than anywhere else for the day.

We then headed back to tackle Happy Valley the opposite way. It was incredible the difference a set of tyres makes. The 3 150’s had MTZ, ST’s and Grand Treks on, outside of that were very similar and how easy they went back up here was certainly different but we all got there and an 80 with a lift, muddies and a rear locker made everything we did look soooo easy. This was the end of the fun, low was disengaged and we reluctantly headed back to the car park to air up and head or separate ways.

I had a great day and I am sure everybody else did too. My videos are uploading and should be able to share them all tomorrow. Until then, I will enjoy a cold beer and relax.

I must say after you and Richard shifted the sloppy stuff out of the way, the 80 seemed to just crawled up as if it was on bitumen.

Thought I would make it easier to join all the videos together and just add one, should have done this last night.
