Hi fellas. I've moved to tassie and recently bought a prado too. I'm keen to join a 4wd club was wondering if you are in a club in tassie. If so which one. I'm in launceston. Just wanted like minded people to hang out with and also to be shown some good tracks and camp spots.

There is a book called "4WD Track in Tasmania" by Chris Boden that is worth a look. Though, I have been on several roads listed, with the car club that I belong to (gravel car rally). Only twice have 4WD needed to be engaged, once taking a shortcut via fireline and the other because it was just so "slippy" (read muddy!

Welcome to Tasmania and to Pradopoint. I am not a memeber of any club but there are a few clubs around. Have a talk to Darren and the crew at ARB Launceston and I am sure they could point you in the right direction.Tasmania 2015 GTG Committee Member 2005 Prado Pilbara, Sovereign Bar, Driver & passenger weathershields, UHF TX3220, Spare wheel spaces, Lifestyle rack, Genuine front & midrow seatcovers, Genuine front & midrow rubber floor mats, ARB 47 litre fridge/freezer, Hilux washer jets, BF Goodridge A/T, Radiator protection plate, Dual battery tray and isolator, ARB 2.5m awning, Rhino heavy duty areo bars, MSA rear wheel bin, MAXTRAX

What model do you have?
I'm not a member of any 4wd clubs either, but over the last couple of years have been doing a bit of camping around the place, usually with an aim to do some fishing, as well as get off the beaten track.2009 White KDJ120R Manual fitted out for family camping and touring - See my Rig Build at http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread.php?27887-Smithy-s-Rig-Build

I'm a member of the Devonport 4wd club, and enjoy the meetings, although I'm yet to get out on a run with them. Planning on doing Sandy Cape with them at the end of November, which should be fun.
As VKPrado said, Darren at ARB would be a good contact point, but all clubs seem to keep in touch with each other and get on well with members of all clubs tending to go on other clubs day trips.

If we are doing reccies for the 2015 GTG then we need a standard Prado to test the tracks withOriginally posted by cfryback View PostNothing too serious, I hope - my wish list is FAR from complete. Stupid mortgage and bills!
. But then again we need to also rule out those tracks where we don't want to go so a sacrifical vehicle will come in handy as well .
