Give Vaughan a few weeks as he is holidaying out of his state, I think he will get some threads started with further details.

        ####.
Thanks #### for letting people know on here the dates while I have been away.

I will now try and start to answer the questions people have been asking as best as I can at this stage.

Dates already booked in Calendar too. Tempted to submit my leave request now too.

Ferry bookings only accepted until April 2015
You can not book the boat any more than 364 days in advance. This will allow you all plenty of time to think about and plan for the big journey south.

This is true but also if you want to sail on a particular date and have a trailer it could be a risk to try and pick up a cheaper fare if they do have a sale.

              • Is the gtg going to be a base camp? Caravan pk or parks? Or on the move?
I understand you may not have planned it yet just looking for a rough idea.

The whole event is being based around family friendly. At this stage in planning we will not be moving camp every day but there will most likely be a couple of pack ups required.

Travel days with campers will be suited to off road campers but sutiable routes for those with caravans will be planned if needed.

God, if Hels finds out that there will be routes suitable for caravans she will want to bring ours.

We hopefully you will be at the GTG anyway so you can just lead the caravan route.

                      • Had a few people ask me about what the driving might be like and have also been made aware of a DVD that could show some of the areas we might just (can't give everything away just yet) be driving.

                        1) The latest 4WD Action (Issue 216) has a DVD covering quite a bit of what type of terrain and areas we will be driving in and around. Yes they do carry on a bit on the DVD but it does give you an idea of the different terrain we hope to share with you all when you come to the 2015 Tasmania GTG.

                        2) Creek to Coast show on TV yesterday (it was meant to have been shown two weeks ago but can be watched on their web page) also showed so of what we will be driving.
