Ok - Read this and got a little excited. Just scanned the topic and i'll read it in full later when I get home from work.
In summary can someone confirm - 2 weeks for the Cape and whatever else travel time to get to Cairns which I'd probably smash out while managing fatigue accordingly over a 3 day period (9 hours a day) to get there.
Unless a group of PP members go up via sydney maybe that would be safer.
Us Victorians can pick you up inland or coast way up . I done both last cape trip from Vic and I'm happy to do whatever way .
I have been watching this thread and resisting every temptation to post, but geeze I would love to do this trip. Time to start talking to SWMBO ;p

wikipedia says "Extravaganza": literary or musical work with elements of burlesque, pantomime, music hall and parody. It sometimes also has elements of cabaret, circus, revue, variety, vaudeville and mime. Extravaganza may more broadly refer to an elaborate, spectacular, and expensive theatrical production.
The term is derived from the Italian word stravaganza, meaning extravagance. In this instance then, "extravaganza" may not be the best choice of term, unless someone is going to do a song and dance act...
I bet if you sink a Prado at a river crossing someone will do a song and dance show for sure.
Maybe "Prado Cape Capers", or "Prado Top End Trip"....or maybe just big letters across the top that say "Cape York Dork" ...that should get some attention.
