                • Can't make this trip :-(

                  Hi peeps,

I thought I was on this trip for sure, one way or the other. Was hoping to take the family, bought a tru blu camper trailer, but in the limited time we have it has not worked out with the 2 year old. So the family will not be able to attend. 5+ weeks is likely pushing the limits on me getting away on my own.
I had a though of taking my dad (over 65) but don't think he can handle a trip that big.
Spewing really as I'm hanging to get to these places I've only seen in photos.
On the positive side, the family will appreciate it more when they are older. Maybe next year? Maybe not, will just have to wait n see when the next opportunity is.

Back to sorting out this gtg, & trying to get the family there somehow but can see a few reasons why that likey won't work out either.
Might be able to take a bit longer for the big 40th birthday - Fraser island trip in late October (only big because we are 2000klms away)

So to all those that do this trip, I trust you will have a great time, plenty of pictures & commentary please.......

                    • There's still a few spots left on the GTG Steve, don't be afraid! The Cape is one trip I'd love to do, but very hard to close the doors on our business for that length of time. I'm sure it'll happen one day, hopefully well before retirement!
                      150 with stuff bolted on!

Wow, dropping like flies! I'm still going, I guess we'll just wing it if our illustrious leaders don't make it.

                        • Hi guys, I'm still 110% committed to do this trip on the original dates that were organized, as I've never been up there I don't think I'm leadership material but I'm more than willing to help out to get this trip organized. I'm sure that we can get the itinerary and organize it amongst ourselves.

                          Cheers,

                          Mike.

                          • Hey guys,

At this stage I'm a 99% chance and still keen. I haven't been to the top, only as far as Coen about 20 years ago! I had planned on doing the Old Coach Rd at the start and meeting up on day 2 or 3. I've done the Coach Rd before but the old man hasn't and it's one of my favourite tracks up this way. I'd be more than happy for people to tag along on this section, meeting up with the rest at Musgrave. I had a couple of other must does for me and the old man so I'll just fit in where I can, no real hard and fast itinerary for us.

                            Cheers,
                            Dusty
