what i ment to say was to use pole blue as a base and do a few day trips to certain areas if the weather allows, i havent been to the tops for about 4 years and last time we got to the watergauge in a std mazda bravo, may be junction pools, little murrary or careys peak as day trip, pending on weather?

Unfortunately we can't make that weekend guys, if it was the one after no problems. However we were up there last weekend and did the Junction Pools trip. Dry as the desert, track was in pretty reasonable condition although there was not any offshoots to explore and do it rough. Not a sign of any rain and there were even a couple of Subarus down at the pools. About 10 car loads were camped down there.

Didn't get a chance to go to the Water Gauge though but have been in there several times after heavy rain, once was even with a Subaru L series wagon and a Liberty wagon. I was the only one who ended up in strife with three staked tyres on the Pootrol
