What time do you expect to be back? I just found out that the minister of finance has organised a weekend down the coast for my birthday. I would still love to go but I have to know when I will be back.

        CMY,

That's the $64,000 question. It all depends on where we end up quite frankly although I would expect to be heading home around 4pm at the very latest, assuming that all goes well. Suffice to say that the intended route has a couple of spots where, if you decide its time to go, you can follow the "main" road out of the forest without fear of getting lost.

If you like we can have cake and a balloon or two on the drive, make it a special day for you

        Cheers,

        Dave

I'm tempted to say don't bother fixing the sidestep you'll only have to repeat the exercise after this run, but I don't want to put anyone else off

              Rob,

I want to do Branch Creek Rd and Dog Rd first up because I just love that bit of country.

After that, Beacon Rd is definitely on the cards, we did Beacon Rd way back when we were doing recce's for the 2011 GTG but came at it after doing Cedar Creek, West Boundary and Gorge Break, which are now marked on the map as a horse trail. Go figure.

Assuming that it's not closed, we can do it is both directions and then head west on the Jimna Bellthorpe Rd and depending on time, either drop down back to the D'Aguilar Highway and back to Woodford/Kilcoy area via Traves Rd or 10 Mile or, if we have heaps of time, we can drift north and arrive onto Sunday Creek Rd and head home via Jimna or Kenilworth.

Dave from the quaint little musuem in Jimna hands out maps with all the tracks of the area on them, I just can't find my copy at the moment, which is why I'm kinda vague on what we'll do after Branch Creek.

If you have a favourite spot by all means lets explore it.

              Cheers,

              Dave

Cool.... no worries, not real familiar with the actual names of the roads but those u mention ring a bell except for Gorge Break & West Boundary & Dog Rd.... Been meaning to get back to check out 10-mile road but never quite got there yet.... Usually take my Zook as I'm not too worried about any pin striping, etc when it comes to exploring down overgrown tracks, etc... but the missus's Prado will be a different story though....
We can up Traves Rd Feb'12 via Mount Kilcoy Rd and back then, parts of the road were washed away and the mates Patrol only just squeezed through. Don't know what it would be like now....

I came down 10 Mile in January and it is still in good nick after they upgraded it, I believe that Traves Rd hasn't been looked at since we were last there Fozzy so it could be exciting, the council still have it open since last January.

The SE Qld crew must be having "trip withdrawal" and then you keep teasing us with dates Fozzy, may the lantana be kind.

We're out sorry. My back's still not good due to a work injury, there's no way I'll survive a 4wd day. Have fun everyone, we'll be in for the next trip I hope!
